Pyro Product Specialist, AllentownPeople behind the solutionsAbout the role Our global Service Engineering team is looking for a technically sharp and motivated Pyro Product Specialist to take ownership of aftermarket, retrofit, and product improvement solutions for Rotary Kilns and other Pyro equipment in the cement industry.
Service Engineering sits at the intersection of sales and execution - we are the technical backbone behind proposals, troubleshooting, and high-value retrofits. You will join a team of specialists with global responsibility for mechanical Pyro equipment, including rotary kilns, preheaters, burners, and similar heavy machinery, bringing together hands-on engineering, product ownership, and cross-functional collaboration.
You will apply your specialist knowledge across the full equipment lifecycle - from design and fabrication through to installation and operation - supporting both internal stakeholders and customers around the world. You will work independently with limited supervision, influencing outcomes through deep technical expertise.
Your role & Responsibilities:- Collaboration: Work closely with other departments (e.g., Customer Service, Sales departments, Business development, Procurement, Customers and quality assurance) to ensure alignment on deliverables, goals and timelines.
- Technical Support: Provide technical support and guidance to team members and customers as needed.
- Continuous Improvement: Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and product quality.
- Documentation: Prepare detailed engineering documentation, including specifications, reports, and manuals, ensuring compliance with regulations and standards.
Key Responsibilities:- Responsibility for technical proposal preparation and execution of engineered parts for our aftermarket and retrofit business
- Responsible for on-time, on budget, quality of engineering packages for individual projects
Works on standardization, product improvement, and development efforts of product line (Value Engineering) - Travels to job sites and regional offices as required in support of equipment problems, installations, and sales efforts. Travel up to 30 days per year
- Assists with solving manufacturing and operational problems
- Analyzes complex design problems requiring the development of new or improved techniques or procedures
- Create, review and approves design drawings prepared in SolidWorks 3D and AutoCad
- Create and review configuration program prepared in Tacton
- Perform and Review of mechanical calculations
- Promotes a culture of personal and team safety, including others who may be affected by the company's operational activities
- Be an engaged team player working close together with colleagues across the global organization
You bring - Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Marine or related field).
- Min. 3 years of relevant heavy engineering experience
- Proficiency in engineering software and tools (e.g., Solidworks, CAD, etc.).
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
- Familiarity with industry regulations and standards.
- Preferred experience within Cement industry or similar heavy industry.
- You have experience with machine design, engineering documentation and SolidWorks
- You have practical experience from a workshop or site, preferably working in Cement Industry
- You can demonstrate that you are systematic in your working methodology
- You have a mindset for continuous improvements in methodologies and working procedures
- You have technical writing skills in English
