Job Description

The Purchasing Quality Technical Specialist provides technical expertise within the purchasing processes for assigned material groups. This role focuses on supplier qualification, supplier development, auditing processes, and monitoring supplier performance to ensure quality standards are met. The position works closely with purchasing, engineering, and plant quality teams to ensure suppliers deliver products that meet Bosch Rexroth quality requirements and performance expectations.

Key Responsibilities
• Identify supplier qualification and development, including the selection of suppliers for quality programs.
• Participate in the quality-related approval and release process for new suppliers.
• Take part in supplier selection activities and provide quality approval during Pre-Sourcing and Global Sourcing meetings.
• Provide technical and methodological support during supplier claim management following escalation procedures.
• Collaborate on SQP activities within PUE-managed projects according to established SQM processes and support the development of technical solutions.
• Conduct supplier process audits and support the preparation and execution of annual audit plans, including remote audits when applicable.
• Define and maintain material-group specific quality requirements and checklists (such as LL, EM, TSR checklists, and MF benchmark levels).
• Participate in activities related to RPP, material cost savings initiatives, PEP, and the start-up and ramp-up of production.
• Lead the development and implementation of inspection concepts with suppliers in coordination with PUE, PUQ plant teams, and development.
• Provide technical support to Commodity Purchasing during discussions with suppliers regarding the Quality Assurance Agreement (QAA).
• Assist Commodity Purchasing with quality-related supplier escalations, including issues that may impact delivery capability due to quality concerns.
• Support Commodity Purchasing during negotiations with suppliers on technology and quality matters, including material cost savings initiatives (e.g., High5) and reimbursement of failure costs.
• Contribute to development activities during the preparation of material-specific specifications.
• Support Project Purchasing with supplier technical qualifications and enabling activities related to specific projects.
• Assist PUQ plant teams during quality meetings when required.
• Identify and select key suppliers for participation in quality improvement programs.
• Perform other duties as required to support business need

Qualifications
  • Bachelor of Science degree in mechanical, industrial, or other related engineering discipline or equivalent experience
  • Minimum of5 years of experience working in manufacturing environment.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in Supplier Quality or Supplier Quality Engineering.
  • Strong ability to read and interpret technical drawings, including geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T), metrology concepts, and required measurement techniques.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience conducting or supporting quality process audits.
  • Expert-level knowledge of Coordinate Measurement Machines (CMM Machinist). Programming experience is not required but is considered a plus.
  • Experience in delivering positive and negative messages. Excellent written and verbal communication.
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate and collaborate with associates at all levels within the organization.

This job primarily operates in a professional office environment with some time on the shop floor. The noise level in the work environment can be quiet to moderate too loud

Additional Information

Salary Pay Range $95,000.00 - $110,000.00. Actual compensation will be determined based on factors such as experience, qualifications, and skills.
