Job Summary

The Purchasing Manager oversees the procurement of HVAC equipment, materials, and related products for commercial mechanical construction projects. This position is responsible for sourcing materials, managing purchase orders, tracking deliveries, and collaborating with project teams and vendors to support project schedules and budgets.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities
• Purchase major HVAC equipment, including RTUs, VRF systems, WSHPs, DOAS units, AHUs, pumps, and boilers, based on approved project submittals.
• Work closely with Project Managers to ensure equipment and materials are ordered accurately and on schedule.
• Monitor equipment lead times and communicate potential delays that may impact project timelines.
• Procure ductwork, piping, controls, accessories, and other project-related materials.
• Create and manage purchase orders, ensuring all information is accurate and up to date.
• Coordinate deliveries and help streamline purchasing activities to support project budgets and schedules.
• Maintain productive relationships with suppliers, manufacturers, and distributors.
• Obtain pricing, review quotes, and assist with negotiating costs, delivery dates, and payment terms.
• Research and identify new vendor options when needed and help maintain vendor records.
• Resolve issues related to order discrepancies, shipment delays, backorders, and damaged materials.
• Coordinate with Project Managers, field personnel, and the Service team to support material and equipment needs.
• Track deliveries and maintain organized procurement records and logs.
• Assist with invoice matching, purchase order documentation, and accounts payable coordination.
• Stay informed on market pricing and availability to help identify purchasing efficiencies and cost-saving opportunities.

Qualifications
• Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Construction Management, or equivalent experience.
• 4+ years of purchasing, procurement, or material coordination experience, preferably within commercial HVAC, mechanical contracting, or construction.
• Experience procuring processes and materials
• Experience managing purchase orders, vendor relationships, and supplier communications.
• Ability to review equipment submittals and interpret basic mechanical drawings and specifications.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and experience using procurement, ERP, accounting, or construction management software.
• Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills with a high level of attention to detail.

Geographic Disclosure

Compensation Range: $115,000 - $130,000 per year
