Full Job Description
We are seeking a results-driven Purchasing Manager to support manufacturing operations by procuring products for resale, materials, supplies, and services in a timely and cost-effective manner. This role requires someone who understands the importance of controlling costs, following purchasing policies, and supporting the company's bottom line, while meeting customer demand.

The ideal candidate brings a strong balance of strategic thinking and hands-on execution, with a clear focus on delivering value and maintaining operational continuity.

Essential Functions
  • Issue and track purchase orders, ensuring accurate quantities and delivery timelines.
  • Maintain appropriate stock levels to meet customer demand while minimizing overstock.
  • Communicate product availability, lead times and price changes effectively to the team.
  • Obtain competitive pricing and compare quotes to ensure best value, not just lowest price.
  • Support sales by coordinating special orders or project specific materials
  • Maintain accurate vendor information, pricing records, and purchase documentation.
  • Coordinate with Sales, Production, Maintenance, and Planning to understand material needs and manage customer orders.
  • Assist with inventory counts and clean-up of obsolete or slow-moving items.
  • Follow company purchasing policies, approval limits, and internal controls.
  • Ensure purchase orders are properly authorized and documented.
  • Match purchase orders with receipts and invoices; work with vendors to resolve discrepancies and damages.
  • Prepare basic purchasing reports (open POs, price variances, usage trends) as requested.

Education, Experience and Key Competencies
  • Bachelor's degree in related field
  • 2-5 years of applicable experience
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office suite of products
  • Strong communication skills
  • Ability to work effectively with cross functional teams
