Full Job Description
Independently lead publications on high-visibility, corporate-focus efforts. This can include international efforts, with a strong understanding of international compliance requirements and standards. Proactively communicates with proposal and capture leadership, effectively championing Innovative Services' various roles. Understands the proposal process from start to finish and maintains awareness of schedule, milestones, formatting, and quality control process. • Contribute exceptional formatting skills to a technical Publications environment and demonstrate sound judgment in managing all aspects of complex proposal and program document production. • Use typesetting and design expertise under general direction to solve formatting and coordination issues effectively while interacting with all levels of staff. • Ensure solutions are consistent with organization objectives and solicitation compliance. • Provide formatting and file preparation support for assigned deliverables. • Deliver formatting guidance to authors and peers, acting as an advisor on project-, program-, and industry-specific style guides, standards, and templates. • Maintain project status and report to internal customers and management as requested. • Respond clearly to information requests in a timely manner. • Provide other Publications support services as required. • Able to work extended hours, including some weekends, as required. Basic Qualifications • Bachelors Degree or equivalent experience • Experience coordinating documents through Publications processes, such as: collaborating with document authors; formatting Word documents to specified standards; organizing files and establishing file naming conventions; coordinating work distribution with peers under a deadline; working with Graphic Artists or Production/Reprographics staff; etc. • Proven experience managing multiple deadlines in a priority-based organization. • Proven experience in desktop publishing (formatting) in Microsoft Word, including familiarity with template-based styles. • Competency in general software skills with proficiency in Microsoft Word, Microsoft PowerPoint, Microsoft Excel, and Adobe Acrobat. • Proven time management skills, including the ability to set internal achievement goals or deadlines to stay on schedule for long-term assignments. • Demonstrated experience communicating with and briefing managers, peers, and customers in a manner that sustains a positive working relationship. • US Citizen with ability to obtain a Top Secret/SCI with Polygraph security. Desired skills • Current Top Secret/SCI clearance with Polygraph. • Experience working with Request for Proposal (RFP) documents, particularly those issued from government customers. • Experience writing or maintaining house- and project-specific Publications style guides. • Experience working with documents through the Microsoft SharePoint platform. • Demonstrated strong presentation and public speaking skills. • Familiarity with technical editing and copyediting skills, including knowledge of grammar, spelling, punctuation, sentence structure, one voice flow, and organizing technical content in a logical and consistent manner. • Familiarity with Chicago Manual of Style editorial standards. • Experience copywriting. • Experience working in aerospace, defense, or a related field. Ability to work remotely Part-time Remote Telework: The employee selected for this position will work part of their work schedule remotely and part of their work schedule at a designated Lockheed Martin facility. The specific weekly schedule will be discussed during the hiring process. Work Schedule Information Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits. National Pay Statement Pay Rate: The annual base salary range for this position in California, Massachusetts, and New York (excluding most major metropolitan areas), Colorado, Hawaii, Illinois, Maryland, Minnesota, New Jersey, Vermont, Washington or Washington DC is $57,400 - $101,200. For states not referenced above, the salary range for this position will reflect the candidate's final work location. Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only. Lockheed Martin considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/ training, key skills as well as market and business considerations when extending an offer. Benefits offered: Medical, Dental, Vision, Life Insurance, Short-Term Disability, Long-Term Disability, 401(k) match, Flexible Spending Accounts, EAP, Education Assistance, Parental Leave, Paid time off, and Holidays. (Washington state applicants only) Non-represented full-time employees: accrue at least 10 hours per month of Paid Time Off (PTO) to be used for incidental absences and other reasons; receive at least 90 hours for holidays. Represented full time employees accrue 6.67 hours of Vacation per month; accrue up to 52 hours of sick leave annually; receive at least 96 hours for holidays. PTO, Vacation, sick leave, and holiday hours are prorated based on start date during the calendar year. This position is incentive plan eligible. Premium Pay Statement Pay Rate: The annual base salary range for this position in most major metropolitan areas in California, Massachusetts, and New York is $66,000 - $114,425.
