Overview

This position is Hybrid: 3 days on-site, 2 days remote, with flexibility to vary.

Schedule: Day Shift

Purpose Statement/Position Summary: The team is responsible for the assessment, treatment planning, and intervention services (i.e., psychotherapy) for a defined caseload of patients (ages 0-21) and their families. Completing at least two intake assessments per week. The Psychotherapist II provides psychotherapeutic services for a caseload of patients with acutely complex needs. Employs evidence-based psychological treatment interventions and provides case management services as needed. Services are primarily clinic-based, but some field work is expected, depending on the needs of the program or individual clients. This position works with other team members to support access to overall services. This position is also responsible for supporting partnerships designed to enhance the availability of services care at CHLA and at external partners.

Minimum Qualifications/Work Experience:

Required:
  • 2+ years of clinical experience with children, adolescents, young adults, and/or their families/caregivers.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Valid CA Driver's License and proof of insurance required for positions requiring field-based services.
Preferred:
  • Experience in a healthcare setting.
  • Experience working in health care settings and with children, adolescents, and families.
  • The ideal candidate will have experience providing individual and group therapeutic interventions for children and families and familiarity with LA County Department of Mental Health (DMH) programs and documentation. Candidates should be self-motivated, able to work independently while meeting established clinical expectations, and adaptable to evolving clinical environments. Strong collaboration skills and the ability to work effectively within an interdisciplinary team to coordinate care across disciplines are essential. Experience working with children with developmental disabilities and/or neurodiverse children and their families is strongly preferred.
Education/Licensure/Certifications:

Required:
  • Master's Degree in Social Work, Marriage & Family Therapy, or Psychology with previous experience in a child, adolescent, or family mental health setting.
  • Licensed by the California Board of Behavioral Sciences as a Social Worker, Marriage and Family Therapist, or Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor.
  • American Heart Association BLS certification.
Preferred:
  • Bilingual in English/Spanish.


Pay Scale Information

$90,334.40-$120,432.00
