Hospital position, salary, and benefits provided by hospital. Salary: $145,000 - $193,000 + Shift Differentials + Outstanding Benefits

Position Overview

The Child & Adolescent Psychologist provides psychological assessment, diagnosis, treatment planning, and therapeutic services for children and adolescents within our behavioral health programs.

In addition to direct clinical care, this position collaborates closely with the Ohana Clinical Team on program development initiatives, emerging treatment models, and community prevention efforts. This role is ideal for a psychologist who enjoys both clinical practice and helping shape the future of behavioral healthcare.

What You'll Do
  • Provide individual, group, and family therapy services

  • Conduct comprehensive psychological assessments and diagnostic evaluations

  • Develop and implement individualized treatment plans

  • Participate in interdisciplinary treatment team meetings

  • Collaborate with psychiatrists, therapists, nurses, and other clinical professionals

  • Support crisis intervention and behavioral stabilization efforts

  • Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation

  • Contribute to program development and prevention initiatives

  • Build positive relationships with patients, families, staff, and community partners

  • Meet a minimum productivity standard of 25 patient-facing billable hours per week

Preferred Clinical Experience

Experience utilizing evidence-based treatment approaches is strongly preferred, including:

  • Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT)

  • Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT)

  • Parent-Child Interaction Therapy (PCIT)

  • Trauma-informed treatment approaches

  • Family systems interventions

  • Child and adolescent behavioral health treatment

Requirements/Qualifications Qualifications Experience
  • Minimum of three (3) years of experience providing psychological services to children and adolescents in inpatient and/or outpatient behavioral health settings required.

  • Experience working with complex behavioral health diagnoses, crisis intervention, and family-centered treatment approaches preferred.

  • Administrative, leadership, quality improvement, or behavioral health program development experience is highly desirable.

Education
  • Doctoral degree required:

    • PhD in Clinical Psychology, or

    • PhD in Counseling Psychology, or

    • PsyD from an accredited program.

Licensure & Certifications
  • Current, unrestricted California Psychology License required.

  • American Heart Association (AHA) Healthcare Provider Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.

  • MOAB (Management of Aggressive Behavior) certification must be obtained within six (6) months of employment.

  • Must successfully complete Monterey County 5150 Training and maintain annual authorization as a 5150 Professional Staff member.

  • Must maintain all required licenses, certifications, and credentials throughout employment.

  • Strong knowledge of child and adolescent development, psychopathology, and evidence-based treatment practices.

  • Ability to conduct psychological assessments, diagnostic evaluations, and treatment planning.

  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills with patients, families, community partners, and interdisciplinary treatment teams.

  • Demonstrated ability to maintain professional boundaries, exercise sound clinical judgment, and effectively manage crisis situations.
