Psychiatrist
About the Position:
Here at the Oklahoma Forensic Center the Clinical Services department is hiring a Board eligible or certified psychiatrist to provide care and treatment to persons in state custody. The responsibilities would include:
  • Prepare a comprehensive initial intake assessment of new patients as assigned
  • Order and review results of laboratory tests and develop treatment plan
  • Provide psychotropic medication management for assigned patients in accordance with current medical standards and best practice guidelines
  • Re-evaluations and ongoing assessments with treatment on a regular basis
  • Provide psychoeducation to patients to keep them informed on medications and treatment plans
  • Write appropriate medical orders for the paraprofessional staff of health care providers and mental health personnel
  • Participate in on-call coverage regarding medical and psychiatric problems
  • Supervises psychiatrists under supervision, interns, residents, and other professional and paraprofessionals as assigned

Job Type/Salary:
  • Open/Close dates: 2/12/2026-until filled
  • Full-time, 8:00am-4:30pm Monday-Friday
  • Hourly payrate: Commensurate based on education and experience
  • FLSA Status: Exempt
  • Primary Work Location/Department:Oklahoma Forensic Center

Minimum Qualifications and Experience:
Licensure to practice medicine in the State of Oklahoma and be Board eligible or certified to practice psychiatry.
Special Requirements:
  • Applicant must be able to pass an OSBI background check.
  • Applicants must be willing and able to fulfill any job-related travel normally associated with this position and as such have a valid driver's license.
