About the Role:

The Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner plays a critical role in delivering comprehensive mental health care to diverse patient populations across the United States. This position involves assessing, diagnosing, and managing psychiatric disorders through evidence-based therapeutic interventions and medication management. The practitioner collaborates closely with multidisciplinary teams to develop individualized treatment plans that promote patient recovery and well-being. Minimum Qualifications:

• Master's or Doctoral degree in Nursing with a specialization in Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP).
• Current and unrestricted Nurse Practitioner license valid in the United States.
• Certification as a Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP-BC) by the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC) or equivalent.
• Demonstrated experience in psychiatric assessment, diagnosis, and treatment planning.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience working in diverse clinical settings such as inpatient psychiatric units, outpatient clinics, or community mental health centers.
• Familiarity with electronic health record (EHR) systems and telepsychiatry platforms.
• Additional certifications in trauma-informed care, substance use disorders, or cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT).
• Strong background in cultural competence and working with underserved populations.
• Advanced training in psychopharmacology and psychotherapy techniques.

Responsibilities:

• Conduct thorough psychiatric evaluations and mental health assessments to identify patient needs and formulate diagnoses.
• Develop and implement individualized treatment plans, including prescribing and managing psychotropic medications.
• Provide psychotherapy and counseling services using evidence-based modalities tailored to patient conditions.
• Collaborate with psychiatrists, psychologists, social workers, and other healthcare professionals to coordinate comprehensive care.
• Monitor patient progress, adjust treatment plans as necessary, and document clinical findings accurately in medical records.
• Educate patients and families about mental health conditions, treatment options, and strategies for managing symptoms.
• Respond promptly to psychiatric emergencies and provide crisis intervention when required.
