Qualifications

• Master's or doctoral degree in nursing or physician assistant studies from an accredited university or college.
• Active board certification through a national certifying body recognized in South Carolina.
• Active license to practice as an APRN or Physician Assistant in South Carolina with prescriptive authority.
• Preferred experience managing conditions within the psychiatric scope of practice.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and the EMR system utilized.
• Strong organizational and time management skills.
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.

Responsibilities

• Conduct thorough psychiatric evaluations, assessing both mental and physical status based on presenting symptoms.
• Diagnose psychiatric disorders and mental health conditions to ensure accurate treatment planning.
• Develop comprehensive treatment plans integrating psychotropic medications and holistic wellness principles.
• Prescribe and manage psychotropic medications in compliance with regulations and practice agreements.
• Monitor treatment effectiveness, adjust medications, and educate patients on adherence and wellness strategies.
• Utilize psychotherapeutic interventions as complementary approaches to medication management.
• Assess and manage psychiatric emergencies, facilitating transitions to emergency care when needed.
