Full Job Description
The Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner is responsible for providing comprehensive psychiatric evaluation and treatment to patients within the mental health framework. This role requires a compassionate and knowledgeable professional who can perform assessments, establish diagnoses, and develop treatment plans, including medication management and psychotherapy. The Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner will work collaboratively with other healthcare providers to ensure a holistic approach to patient care, advocating for mental health needs while fostering a supportive and healing environment. Bilingual Spanish speaking Psych NPs already enrolled in Medicaid encouraged to apply.

Requirements

EDUCATION REQUIRED:

EXPERIENCES AND/OR SKILLS REQUIRED:
  • Minimum of two (2) years experience in mental health or psychiatric nursing.
  • Diverse experience dealing with various psychiatric disorders.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop therapeutic relationships with patients.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong organizational and critical thinking abilities.
  • Basic computer proficiency for documentation and communication needs.

LICENSES/CERTIFICATIONS REQUIRED:
  • Current certification as a Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP-BC).
  • Licensed to practice as a Nurse Practitioner in New York State.
  • Current CPR/ BLS certification.
