Suncoast Psychiatry is seeking an experienced Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP-BC) to join our growing outpatient team in Lutz, Florida.

This is an excellent opportunity for a PMHNP who has already developed a strong clinical foundation and is looking for a practice where they can build meaningful relationships with patients, collaborate with an experienced psychiatric team, and have a lasting impact on the community.

Position Overview

The PMHNP will provide comprehensive psychiatric care in an outpatient setting, including psychiatric evaluations, diagnosis, medication management, treatment planning, and ongoing follow-up care.

The ideal candidate is an experienced PMHNP who can confidently manage their own patient panel while also valuing collaboration and consultation with other members of the clinical team.

What You'll Do
  1. Conduct comprehensive psychiatric evaluations and assessments.
  2. Diagnose and treat a wide range of psychiatric and behavioral health conditions.
  3. Develop individualized, evidence-based treatment plans.
  4. Prescribe and manage psychiatric medications.
  5. Monitor treatment effectiveness and make appropriate adjustments to medication and treatment plans.
  6. Educate patients and families regarding diagnoses, medications, treatment options, and ongoing care.
  7. Collaborate with psychiatrists, therapists, primary care providers, and other healthcare professionals when appropriate.
  8. Maintain accurate, thorough, and timely documentation within the electronic medical record.
  9. Provide compassionate, patient-centered care while maintaining appropriate clinical boundaries and standards.
  10. Remain current on evidence-based practices, emerging treatments, and developments within psychiatric care.

What We're Looking For
  • Master's or Doctoral degree in Nursing from an accredited program
  • Current PMHNP-BC certification

  • Previous experience practicing as a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner required
