Overview

Responsibilities

Assesses patients in the emergency room and throughout the house when requested and ensures placement according to their age, identified problems and needs. Acts within the guidelines of LPS Statutes and Patients’ Rights. Provides crisis intervention and appropriate referrals when needed. Works within the multidisciplinary team and communicates effectively with physicians, nurses and staff.

Qualifications

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, TRAINING

 

1.     Must have current valid license as a Registered Nurse, LPT, PST, MFT, or LCSW issued by the State.

2.     LPS certification preferred or needs to obtain this prior to commencement of employment.

3.     Current BCLS (AHA) certificate upon hire and maintain current.

4.     Minimum two (3) years experience in an Inpatient Psychiatric unit

5.     Assaultive Behavior Management training within 6 months of hire and maintain current annually.

6.     DMH certification required for 5150 detention.

The exact starting compensation to be offered will be determined at the time of selecting an applicant for hire, in which a wide range of factors will be considered, including but not limited to, skillset, years of applicable experience, education, credentials and licensure.
