Job Title: Provider Recruitment Partner

Department: Talent Acquisition

Location: on-site at SLH Lamar, 50 Leroy Street, Potsdam, NY 13676

Hours Per Week: 40

Schedule: Monday through Friday, 8am to 4pm

SUMMARY:

Administers and coordinates all aspects of the physician and advanced practice clinician (APC) interview, hiring, and onboarding process within an assigned market or service line. Ensures alignment with organizational standards for recruitment, interview protocols, and provider integration, while partnering closely with recruiters and site leadership to deliver a seamless candidate experience.

Functions as the primary point of contact between the site and recruitment team during the interview process, guiding candidates through the organization’s services, facilities, and community environment. Serves as a subject matter resource for provider integration, offering support in workforce planning, onboarding, succession, and retention efforts, and utilizes insights from new hire and exit feedback to drive continuous improvement.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Acts as the primary point of contact for assigned sites or service lines during the pre-interview and interview phase, providing guidance, answering candidate questions, and sharing comprehensive information about the facility and surrounding community.
• Participates in and ensures sooth interview day experience for candidates.
• Coaches interviewers pre and post interview on how to continuously improve the in-person interview experience for the candidate and compliance with hiring practices.
• Partners with recruitment team members and physician leadership to coordinate connections and ensure seamless and well-organized experience.
• Delivers ongoing communication to stakeholders regarding candidate progress, interview logistics, market insights, and recruitment strategies.
• Proactively identifies potential challenges, develops solutions, and advises site leadership on effective actions to keep recruitment efforts on track.
• Evaluates and supports the personal and family needs of candidates, offering tailored resources, conducting research, and organizing community tours to support relocation decisions and overall transition.
• Oversees and ensures timely planning and execution of site visits, including the scheduling of interviews and developing detailed itineraries. Works closely with operational and clinical leadership to assess candidate qualifications, alignment with organizational culture, and overall fit. Gathers and shares feedback from both candidates and interview teams to continuously improve the process.
• Ensures accurate representation of the role, current provider team, and community environment. Partners with operational and medical leaders to anticipate workforce gaps and support future staffing strategies.
• Promotes the organization’s brand by effectively showcasing its services, programs, and culture to candidates.
• Maintains engagement with newly hired clinicians during their first year, offering support, resolving concerns, and collecting feedback to strengthen onboarding and retention efforts.
• Conducts structured exit interviews with departing providers, including retirees, and compiles insights into reports that inform leadership decision-making and identify retention trends.
• Coordinates closely with credentialing, privileging, and licensing teams to ensure timely completion of pre-employment requirements. Monitors progress, identifies delays, and facilitates resolution to keep processes moving efficiently.
• Partners with internal teams and site leadership to guide new hires through onboarding, ensuring a smooth transition into the organization. Supports relocation activities, including housing visits, and assists in coordinating orientation programs while gathering feedback to improve the overall onboarding experience.

 

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s Degree required or 3+ years of experience in human resources, physician recruitment, healthcare operations, or related field required.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

Sedentary - Sedentary roles are primarily office-based and require prolonged sitting (67–100% of the workday) with minimal physical effort and lifting limited to under 10 lbs. Fine motor skills are necessary for computer work, writing, and telephone use, supported by clear visual and auditory ability. Cognitive and emotional demands are high due to extended concentration, frequent interruptions, independent decision-making, and information processing. Although physical exposure is low, administrative areas within healthcare environments may occasionally involve contact with infectious agents. Some roles may require flexible hours, TB screening, or a valid driver’s license.

PAY RANGE:

$80,000.00 - $105,000.00

The listed base pay range is a good faith representation of current potential base pay for a successful full time applicant. It may be modified in the future and eligible for additional pay components.
