PSTI has an immediate opening for a Protection Engineer. Responsibilities include but are not limited to providing power system protection services including system model development, short circuit analysis, relay settings development, area coordination studies, standards development, relay operation analysis, and technical reviews of drawings and relay settings; supporting project delivery from the protection team led by the Protection Supervisor; mentoring less experienced engineers via direct training and technical review of work.
Minimum Requirements: Bachelor of Science or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering; 5+ years protection engineering experience. The successful candidate must be proficient in ASPEN Oneliner software, have in-depth knowledge of system protection coordination and philosophy, and have working knowledge of common power system high voltage apparatus and IBR (inverter-based resource). Proficiency in Siemens APA (formerly CAPE) or ETAP is considered an asset. The successful candidate must have excellent verbal and written communication skills; strong organization and planning skills; ability to work in a team environment; commitment to quality and accuracy; and a willingness to meet fast-paced project schedules. P.Eng. license is required. US PE license may be required . The successful applicant must be knowledgeable of applicable codes, standards and design tools. The successful applicant may be subject to client-mandated drug and background checking.
