Responsibilities

  • Perform engineering design and delivery of HV and EHV substation projects for power utilities and renewable interconnections.
  • Prepare substation P&C design packages, including various schematics and layout diagrams to meet quality, time, and budget requirements.
  • Support substation studies, including AC auxiliary system and battery sizing calculations.
  • Provide construction support and ensure inter-disciplinary coordination.

Full Job Description
We are seeking aProtection & ControlDesigner with technical experience inthe design of HVsubstationsfor power utilitiesandfor the interconnection of renewables and data centers. In this roleyouwillsupport thedelivery ofsubstationdetaileddesignprojectsfrom the conceptual phase through design completionfor electric utilities,contractorsand developers. You will be the technical interface with clientsand internal team members. This position can be worked out of ourNew York, New Jersey, Washington DC, Boston or Chicago offices. The Opportunity: • Performthe engineering design, technical strategy, and delivery of HVand EHVsubstationprojectsfor power utilities and for the interconnection of renewables and data centers. • PreparesubstationP&Cdesign packagesincludingsingle-line diagrams,protection and control schematics, elementary and wiring diagrams, SCADA, communications,control houselayout,cableschedules,relay panel front and rear layout,cable traylayoutandbills of materialsto quality,timeand budget requirements. • Support insubstation studies and calculationsincludingAC auxiliary system sizing, battery sizingandvoltage drop. • Provide construction support and inter-disciplinary coordination. This range is commensurate with experience, educational background, and skill level. Benefits are not included in the base salary.
