POSITION OVERVIEW: As a
Proposal Manager at LJA in our
Marketing department, you will be responsible for managing team efforts to prepare responses, submittals, and proposals, and conducting other marketing activities related to specific targets or prospects as needed. Responsible for proposal development (e.g., written, oral, demonstrations), including maintaining schedules, organizing resources, coordinating inputs and reviews, ensuring proposal strategy implementation, ensuring compliance, resolving internal team issues, and providing process leadership.
A TYPICAL DAY MIGHT INCLUDE:- Leading the efforts on technical writing, proposal drafting, proposal submittal, interview prep, and related marketing materials
- Managing assigned staff and assisting team efforts to prepare responses
- Creating and maintaining the proposal schedule to ensure deadlines are met
- Managing Assignments on Proposal Assignments Planner
- Managing proposal opportunities, updating pursuit spreadsheets, and proposal logs for various sectors
- Serving as liaison between Legal, Accounting, and Marketing for improving marketing communication and providing representation during internal projects
- Interacting with all levels within the firm to ensure successful completion of proposals
- Managing marketing activities related to specific targets or prospects
- Writing or verbalizing the areas of expertise within the company for promotional materials, proposals, and presentations
- Guiding and motivating the proposal team, delegating tasks effectively, and managing emotions to foster a positive and productive work environment, especially under pressure.
- Addressing challenges during the proposal development process with creative and effective solutions, ensuring smooth progress even when faced with last-minute changes or gaps in information.
REQUIRED EDUCATION/LICENSE/CERTIFICATIONS:- Bachelor's degree in English, Marketing, Communications, Business Administration, or related field.
- Certifications in Proposal Management (preferred)
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:- AEC industry experience
- 7+ years of experience in the marketing of professional services
- Advanced Proficiency in InDesign
- Excellent verbal and written skills
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and inspire the team
- The ability to multi-task and manage multiple deliverables in an efficient manner is necessary for this position
