Property Claims - Quality and Improvement Consultant

The Property Quality and Improvement Consultant ~ Claims Quality Solutions (CQS) is responsible for auditing damage estimates across the Property Claim line of business, with a specific focus on building estimates completed by OCRs, Independent Adjusters, Preferred Vendors, and Inside Claim Handlers. This role reports to the Claims Quality and Improvement Property Manager within the CQS organization. This role is 100% remote and may be based in Texas or Oklahoma (Dallas, TX is preferred).

Quality Process & Reporting
  • Add value to our Claim Excellence, Field Operations, and Performance Analytics organizations through accurate, timely audit processes and high-quality, impactful reporting.
  • Ensure the accuracy and consistency of reinspection reviews, audit processes, and reporting.
  • Identify, develop, and implement audit and reporting enhancements where appropriate.
  • Partner effectively with RIS team members to deliver calibrated results, including a thorough review of all relevant information such as estimates, file notes, photos, reporting conclusions, EQI ratings, and dollar variances.


Leadership
  • Consult, influence, and partner effectively with Claim Operations, Claims Supplier Management, Training, and Performance Analytics organizations.
  • Stay current on issues that may impact the team, including industry and marketplace trends, organizational strategy, and leadership priorities.
  • Demonstrate key leadership competencies in the day-to-day execution of CQS objectives, including self-development, building partnerships, and driving execution.


Productivity
  • Successfully execute the agreed-upon RIS operating plan, including ad hoc activities and targeted reviews, throughout the year.
  • Demonstrate and promote an "open for business" and "customer service" mindset within CQS.
  • Produce timely reports across all estimating sources within the Quality and Improvement Consultant's territory.
  • Participate in CAT activity and other special projects as an on-call resource.


Analysis and Reporting
  • Produce high-quality, impactful reports that clearly articulate audit findings, identify trends, highlight strengths and opportunities, and include an appropriate level of root-cause analysis.
  • Clearly present data and supporting analysis, integrating information from other sources (e.g., Actuary, other CQS work) to test and/or validate RIS findings.
  • Clearly articulate and apply the DQI (Define, Quantify, Inform) methodology in reinspection reports.


Qualifications
  • Minimum of 5 years of Property claims and estimating experience required.
  • Large Loss/Major Case experience preferred.
  • Bachelor's degree preferred.
  • Working knowledge of Xactimate and other estimating tools used by Claim Handlers, Team Leaders, Managers, and Quality and Improvement Consultants.
  • Working knowledge of ECOS, EDM, and related automation tools and processes.
  • Advanced building estimation technical skills, with strong industry knowledge related to building repairs and the applicable legal and regulatory environment.
  • Proficiency in Excel with experience in data analysis and trend identification.
  • Demonstrated business expertise in claim handling skills and decision-making capabilities.
  • Strong internal and external customer service orientation.
  • Self-motivated with a demonstrated commitment to excellence.
  • Results-driven mindset that fosters positive teamwork and strong working relationships.
  • Effective written and verbal communication, with the ability to influence team members and business partners.
  • Strong analytical, writing, and presentation skills.
  • Overnight travel required: approximately 30-40%.

The Property Claims - Quality and Improvement Consultant role is 100% remote and may be based in Texas or Oklahoma (Dallas, TX is preferred). A company vehicle is provided. Overnight travel of approximately 30-40% is required.

Compensation

The listed annualized base pay range is primarily based on analysis of similar positions in the external market. Actual base pay could vary and may be above or below the listed range based on factors including but not limited to performance, proficiency and demonstration of competencies required for the role. The base pay is just one component of The Hartford's total compensation package for employees. Other rewards may include short-term or annual bonuses, long-term incentives, and on-the-spot recognition. The annualized base pay range for this role is:

$78,800 - $118,200
