Property Data SpecialistKCC seeks a Property Data Specialist to join our growing team of risk modeling experts. KCC develops models to estimate the risk from all types of natural perils including tropical cyclones, wildfires, severe convective storms, and earthquakes. KCC scientists and engineers create stochastic sets of potential future scenarios that are overlayed on an exposure dataset of building replacement values. The Property Data Specialist will support the exposure development team in modeling replacement values for countries around the world.
Expected Salary Range: $85,000-$95,000Responsibilities
- Develop detailed databases of residential, commercial, and industrial properties by investigating, analyzing, and synthesizing multiple internal and external datasets.
- Research global population, employment, construction, and inflation trends.
- Develop innovative and efficient computational methods to process large datasets across multiple data types and structures.
- Wrangle and adjust messy or out-of-date datasets.
- Make informed, defendable assumptions where data is limited.
- Prepare reports and presentations that describe results of completed and ongoing developments.
Qualifications
- Master's degree in Economics, Statistics, or related field and 2-3 years work experience.
- Competent and proven analytical skills and programming experience in R/Python and SQL.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills, keen orientation to detail, an eye for professional presentation, and recognized organizational abilities.
- High autonomy and strong problem-solving skills.
- Experience with census, real estate, and/or building data, a plus.
