ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:- Provide mentorship to claims service team. Report directly to National Claims leader.
- Development and implementation of procedures, processes, and reporting practices
- Handling of high-profile claims for top accounts and others as necessary
- Engagement to assist local claim consultant in managing a complex claim. Will not take over handling of file however.
- Build trust with external and internal management teams through direct interactions and presentations
- Provide and support clients with claims solutions specific to their business operations
- Assist account executives, agents and client service units with managing clients' potential exposures
- Assist with marketing of claims services to prospective new accounts
- Communicate and strategize with account executives, client services, insureds, carriers, TPAs, adjusters
- Assist national claims to manage all vendor relationships working with department
- Review policies to determine coverage for appropriate reporting
- Develop, initiate and manage system enhancements and improvements
- Maintain and develop reporting for executive management, client service units
- Communicate with executive management, account executives, agents and client services regarding potential large losses and denials
- Navigate various carrier databases
- Hands-on interaction with client service and product servicing units
- Review carrier coverage position letters and as appropriate create correspondence disputing the carrier position
- Ability to present at RFPs, client presentations and Webinars
- Responsible for creating own correspondence
- Perform other specific duties as assigned
REQUIREMENTS: - 7+ years of experience in personal and commercial insurance claims is required
- Experience handling claims across multiple commercial lines policy types and client industries
- Extensive technical knowledge of insurance policies and coverage triggers
- Bachelor's degree OR equivalent relevant working experience is required
- Prior leadership/management experience is highly preferred
- Active Illinois Property & Casualty License or ability to obtain one within 90 days of employment is required
- Professional insurance designations are highly preferred
- Strong understanding and comfort using Microsoft Office tools (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint)
- Strong customer service, organization and time management skills
- Strong decision making and problem-solving skills
The expected salary range for this position is $150,000 to $160,000 and will be impacted by factors such as the successful candidate's skills, experience and working location, as well as the specific position's business line, scope and level.
