Key Responsibilities
• Develop and manage comprehensive project plans and schedules for capital and maintenance projects, ensuring alignment with the terminal's operational goals.
• Work closely with project managers, engineering, and maintenance teams to establish project timelines, resource needs, and execution strategies.
• Develop annual P6 schedule for projects in alignment with annual turnaround schedule
• Work closely with capital projects controller and projects manager to forecast the capital project cost and final cost.
• Coordinate the allocation of labor, equipment, and materials for all project activities, ensuring efficient use of resources.
• Monitor and update project schedules, ensuring that any potential delays or risks are identified and addressed proactively.
• Collaborate with the Assistant Manager, Planning & Scheduling, to integrate project schedules into broader terminal operational plans and maintenance activities.
• Ensure all project plans and schedules comply with site safety standards, environmental regulations, and industry best practices.
• Ensuring all required documentations are prepared, ready and communicated to stakeholders for TAs
• Track and report project performance metrics, including progress, resource utilization, and adherence to schedule and budget.
• Facilitate communication between project teams and terminal operations to ensure alignment and coordination of project activities.
• Assist in preparing detailed work packages, including job scopes, timelines, and required documentation for project execution.
• Provide support during project risk assessments and the development of mitigation plans to ensure project objectives are achieved.
• Lead post-project evaluations, identifying lessons learned and opportunities for improvement in future planning efforts.
Qualifications and Skills
Education
Bachelor's or master's degree in engineering or Journeyperson trade designation in a maintenance field or Journeyperson trade designation in a maintenance field.
Experience
Minimum 5 years in progressively planning role within a heavy industrial setting. 5-10 years of experience is preferred.
Skills
• Strong knowledge of project planning, scheduling, and execution processes in an industrial or terminal environment.
• Proficiency in project scheduling software and tools (e.g., Primavera P6, Microsoft Project, or similar).
• Excellent organizational and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
• Strong problem-solving abilities and analytical skills to optimize project planning processes.
• Knowledge of safety regulations, environmental standards, and regulatory compliance related to project planning and execution.
• Ability to analyze project data, forecasts, and performance metrics to drive informed decisions.
