Position Description

The Project Superintendent is responsible for overseeing day-to-day field operations on heavy civil construction projects, including roadway, underground utilities, concrete paving, earthwork, and infrastructure work. This role leads on-site execution, ensuring projects are built safely, efficiently, and in accordance with contract requirements, schedules, and quality standards.

Working closely with the General Superintendent and Project Manager, the Project Superintendent coordinates labor, equipment, materials, and subcontractors while enforcing safety programs, maintaining quality control, and driving production. This position plays a critical leadership role in field operations, crew development, problem-solving, and successful project delivery from start-up through completion

Position Requirements

  • High School Degree
  • Preferred: Post-Secondary Degree (Trade or Bachelor's)
  • Minimum of 7 years of experience in construction project management, with at least 3 years in a supervisory role.
  • Strong knowledge of heavy civil construction including underground utilities, earthwork, and paving.
  • Strong knowledge of construction industry practices.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and organizational skills.
  • Proficiency in project management software and tools.
  • Ability to anticipate and address issues proactively.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and work under pressure.
