Job Description

SAIC is seeking an experienced Project Scheduler join our team. The Scheduler will support a reconfigurable air defense project by developing, managing, and maintaining project schedules in coordination with program managers and cross-functional teams. In this role, you will play a vital part in ensuring that deliverables are met on time, within budget, and in compliance with SAIC and customer requirements.

The ideal candidate has a proven track record in developing Integrated Master Schedules (IMS) for complex projects, proficiency in leading industry-standard scheduling tools, and the ability to apply scheduling best practices. In addition, the Scheduler should have a strong understanding of critical path management, resource planning, and risk mitigation.

Key Responsibilities
  • Schedule Development and Management: Create, maintain, and update Integrated Master Schedules (IMS) using Microsoft Project.
  • Stakeholder Collaboration: Collaborate closely with program managers, engineers, functional teams, contractors, and government customers to gather inputs and ensure schedule alignment with program objectives.
  • Critical Path Methodology (CPM): Perform critical path analysis to identify dependencies, constraints, and project risks affecting schedule adherence.
  • Progress Tracking: Monitor project activities, anticipate delays or challenges, and report deviations from the project schedule to the program team and functional teams.
  • Risk Mitigation: Identify risks of schedule delays, propose mitigation strategies, and incorporate contingency planning.
  • Reporting: Develop program-related reports, including Gantt charts, status reports, and progress dashboards to track project health.
  • Baseline Management: Maintain project schedule baselines and provide performance updates to ensure alignment with contractual obligations and customer objectives.
  • Resource Alignment: Coordinate the efficient use of resources, analyze resource constraints, and recommend realignment of personnel, equipment, or materials to optimize project execution.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in a related field (Business Management, Project Management, Engineering, or a technical discipline) and three (3) years of experience. Years of experience accepted in lieu of degree.
  • Proven experience as a scheduler in a technical, project-driven, or mission-critical environment.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Project or other industry-standard scheduling tools.
  • Familiarity with Earned Value Management (EVM) principles.
  • Strong understanding of Critical Path Methodology (CPM) and dependency management.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple schedules simultaneously while maintaining accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication skills to effectively articulate schedule health and risk to stakeholders.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to quickly adapt to evolving project requirements.
  • U.S. citizenship is required, along with the ability to obtain and maintain a Secret clearance.


Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience managing schedules for projects supporting federal government or defense agencies.
  • Familiarity with Agile methodologies and integration of Agile tasks into IMS frameworks.
  • Strong proficiency in creating dashboards and reports using Excel, Tableau, or Power BI.
  • Earned Value Management experience (EVM) (SPI/CPI),
