Position Overview

The Project Safety Director will be responsible for the strategic development, implementation, and management of all safety programs for a project that is valued over 1 Billion in scope. This role requires a strong leadership presence, extensive knowledge of safety regulations, and a proactive approach to risk management in the construction industry, particularly in the vertical building and healthcare construction market.

District Overview

TIC - The Industrial Company is a subsidiary of Kiewit Corporation that provides direct-hire construction services for industrial projects. TIC Denver operates in power, industrial manufacturing, mining, and oil, gas and chemical markets across the United States. Its projects range from small capital work to comprehensive EPC solutions. We are looking for people committed to the construction industry in an "open-shop" environment.

Responsibilities
• Develop and execute a comprehensive safety strategy aligned with project and company goals.
• Managing the project environmental health and safety programs, driving a safety-oriented approach to work.
• Compiling, analyzing, and interpreting occupational illness and accident statistical data at the project level; recommending process and product safety features that will reduce employee exposure to chemical, physical, and biological work hazards.
• Routinely inspecting the facilities, machinery, and safety equipment in order to identify and correct potential hazards, and to ensure safety regulation compliance.
• Routinely monitoring the workforce for unsafe behaviors and coach employees on the correct behaviors when observed
• Developing environmental health and safety training materials to include manuals, brochures, PowerPoint presentations etc.
• Developing a paperwork management system to track training records to track all safety training initiatives conducted personally or by outside consultants/vendors.
• Interpreting safety regulations for the project.
• Coordinating and presenting safety training to support client requirements including new hire orientation, fall protection, confined space, lockout/tagout and repertory.
• Interfacing with Occupational Safety and Health (OSHA) (Provincial or federal) officials/inspectors in the event or a site visit.
• Lead and mentor a team of safety professionals.
• Conduct high-level safety audits, inspections, and risk assessments.
• Ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal safety regulations.
• Direct incident investigations and oversee the development of corrective action plans.
• Provide executive-level reports on safety performance and metrics for the project.
• Collaborate with senior management and project teams to integrate safety into all aspects of the project.
• Stay abreast of industry trends and advancements in safety practices.
• Promote a culture of safety, accountability, and continuous improvement.

Qualifications
• Bachelor's degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Science, Engineering, or a related field.
• Minimum of 10-15 years of experience in safety management within the construction industry, with a focus on data center construction projects.
• Certified Safety Professional (CSP) or equivalent certification preferred.
• Extensive knowledge of OSHA regulations and other relevant safety standards.
• Proven leadership and team management skills.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Proficiency in safety management software and tools.
