Summary

Project Planning Analyst is responsible for project planning, tracking, scrutinizing, and evaluating various tasks throughout all project phases to achieve organizational goals. Analyzes and tracks project data to improve project management and construction processes and efficiencies.

Key Roles & Responsibilities
  • Proactively plans, analyzes, and monitors construction project activities to achieve corporate goals and drive improvements.
  • Reviews and analyzes various construction projects and is able to proactively provide relevant project information.
  • Develops and maintains a system to track pre-construction activities and develop visibility of this information.
  • Proactively assists in the analysis of workload and resource requirements to assist in preparing forecasts.
  • Assists with project tracking and achieving performance metrics.
  • Actively participates in meetings with Project Coordinators, Project Managers, and other work groups, with the ability to provide project information when needed.
  • Makes recommendations for and initiates the development of new processes and system improvements that enhance visibility to improve the Distribution Services organization.
  • Interacts effectively and in a collaborative environment with Distribution Engineering & Design, Major Construction, District representatives, and all other internal work groups.
  • Proactively monitors project data to identify inefficiencies and help resolve them.
  • Helps ensure the correct priority jobs are being worked on by each contractor company and ensures that reasonable progress is made.
  • Assists with storm restoration support when needed.
  • Performs all essential aspects and functions of the job, as well as any other specific job requirements.

Education & Experience
  • High school diploma, GED, or equivalent is required.
  • College degree in a related field is encouraged to apply.
  • Project Planning Analyst: 2 or more years of experience in data analytics, project tracking, project management, or other directly related experience is required.
  • Project Planning Analyst: In lieu of above, applicants with a Bachelor's Degree in a business-related discipline and a minimum of 1 year of related work experience will be considered.
  • Project Planning Analyst Senior: 4 or more years of related work experience required.
  • Project Planning Analyst Senior: In lieu of above, applicants with a Bachelor's Degree in a business-related discipline and a minimum of 2 years of related work experience will be considered.

Skills
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office software and Outage Management System (OMS), Distribution Information System (DIS), and Automated Construction Information System (ACIS) is preferred.
  • Proven ability to identify areas for and apply process improvement methods.
  • Demonstrated project tracking skills, including requirements gathering, resource tracking, project variance updates, and schedule development.
  • Effective analytical skills to provide actionable information from data.
  • Effective critical thinking and creative problem-solving skills to resolve issues.
  • Proven ability to learn new methods, techniques, and software as needed to accomplish tasks.
  • Ability to perform long-range planning of construction projects.
  • Promotes and actively participates in safe work practices.
  • Expresses ideas and concepts in individual or group situations.
  • Ability to establish trust, commitment, and build relationships to achieve goals and keep all parties informed.
