Full Job Description
The Role PVEDI recently partnered with Stratus, and is seeking an Environmental Project Manager to join the team! The Environmental Project Manager is responsible for assisting Regional Director with assigned aspects of Environmental consulting projects (field and office staff management), serving as a key function in managing and completing environmental engineering and consulting projects and proposals, conducting research and analysis, supervising field investigations, and problem solving. Responsibilities - Management of projects in support of Huson Valley staff as they relate to real estate due diligence, site assessment, and/or site remediation projects. Support New York City and Western PA teams with project management backlog. - Develop/scope environmental assessments considering site history, known contaminants, and regulator expectations. - Provide direct oversight and management of junior staff for specific project assignments. Coach, mentor and motivate staff assigned to Environmental projects through a "learn by doing" model. Participate in interviewing and hiring staff. - Prepare invoices, including timely communication of any changes in scope and timeline of project which might impact billable hours, rates and client expectations. - Stays informed regarding Company- and OSHA-mandated safety guidelines. Assists Regional Director with ensuring that all team members are equipped with the appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) and have received required training per client requirements. - Understanding of NYSDEC regulations as they pertain to the investigation and remediation of a site including but not limited to 6NYCRR Parts 360 surrounding soil reuse and Part 375, DER-10, CP-51 and CP-43. - Reviews technical field staff reports/work products for accuracy and grammar. - Responsible for preparation and review of site assessment reports including but not limited to Phase I & II ESAs, NYSDEC Brownfield Cleanup Program documents (applications, work plans, reports). - Understanding of remedial tracks defined by NYSDEC regulations. - Responsible for understanding and satisfying federal, state and city regulatory requirements and environmental conditions needed to satisfy both regulatory and lender's requirements. - Interface effectively and professionally with clients, contractors, subcontractors, staff, project personnel, supervisors, and others. - Performs other duties as needed and assigned. Qualifications - Minimum of bachelor's degree in environmental science, geology, hydrogeology, or similar field. - 5+ years of practical experience with environmental investigations and remediation projects. - Demonstrated experience managing NYSDEC Brownfield Cleanup Program projects. - Excellent communication skills, verbal and written. - Qualified Environmental Professional or Professional Geologist preferred. - OSHA 40-hr. HAZWOPER and OSHA 10-hr. Construction Site Safety training required. - Use and/or working knowledge of AutoCAD, ArcGIS, gINT and EQuIS, or similar programs. - This in - person position is based in Poughkeepsie, New York, and will often involve travel to project assignments throughout the Hudson Valley, Southern Tier of New York and occasionally New York City. - Job requires the ability to navigate over rough terrain, urban, rural and industrial sites. Must have a valid driver's and safe driving record. Must also be able to sit for long periods of time in front of a computer, operating a computer keyboard and general office equipment.
