Full Job Description
Purpose:
We are currently recruiting for a Project Manager. Our team includes world class experts and dynamic go-getters. This is a full-time position based in Sarnia, Ontario.

Responsibilities:
Leadership and Accountability
  • Single Point of Accountability: Hold ultimate responsibility for the successful completion and handover of assigned projects, from initiation through closeout.
  • Team Management: Lead, mentor, and motivate large, integrated project teams, including Engineering, Procurement, Project Controls, Construction Management, and Quality Assurance personnel.
  • Stakeholder Management: Manage all communication and relationships with internal stakeholders (Executive Leadership, Operations) and external parties (Contractors, Vendors, Regulatory Agencies).

Project Execution and Control
  • Scope Definition & Management: Define the project scope, objectives, and deliverables in collaboration with stakeholders, ensuring effective control of scope changes via the formal Change Management process.
  • Cost and Schedule Management: Establish the project baseline budget and integrated master schedule (working closely with Project Controls). Monitor performance, identify variances, and implement corrective actions to ensure the project remains on track.
  • Risk Mitigation: Proactively identify, analyze, and manage project risks and opportunities throughout the lifecycle to minimize negative impacts and maximize value.
  • HSE & Quality: Ensure that all project activities strictly adhere to corporate Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) policies and that quality standards are met according to specifications.

Contracts and Procurement
  • Contract Strategy: Define the project contracting strategy and manage contract execution (e.g., EPC, EPCM, Lump Sum, Unit Rate).
  • Contractor Oversight: Manage and administer contracts with major contractors and suppliers, ensuring compliance with terms, conditions, and schedules.
  • Financial Reporting: Oversee the financial performance of the project, including cash flow, forecasting, invoicing, and reporting on Earned Value Management (EVM) metrics.


What you will bring:
Technical and Industry Experience:
  • Progressive experience in managing capital projects.
  • Direct, verifiable experience managing projects within the Oil and Gas, Heavy Industrial Construction sector is mandatory.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
  • Proven expertise in project delivery methods, contract management, and strong working knowledge of Project Controls (scheduling, cost estimating, risk management).
  • Exceptional leadership, negotiation, problem-solving, and communication skills (written and verbal).
  • Experience with large, multi-site projects or international project management.
  • Advanced proficiency with integrated project management systems (e.g., SAP, EcoSys, Primavera P6).

Education - Qualifications, Accreditation, Training:

Required:
  • Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) designation in Ontario.

For applicants based in the province of Ontario, the salary range is $138,950 to $204,338 CAD.
