Position Summary

The Project Manager - EPMS / Security Systems is responsible for the overall planning, execution, management, and successful delivery of Electrical Power Monitoring Systems (EPMS), Security Systems, and Low Voltage Infrastructure projects. This role requires strong project management skills and the ability to oversee all phases of project delivery, including planning, budgeting, scheduling, procurement, installation, commissioning, customer management, financial performance, quality control, and project closeout.

The Project Manager serves as the primary point of contact for customers, subcontractors, vendors, and internal stakeholders while ensuring projects are completed safely, on time, within budget, and in accordance with customer requirements, industry standards, and company objectives.

The ideal candidate has experience managing EPMS, access control, video surveillance, intrusion detection, network-connected security systems, and mission-critical infrastructure projects within data centers, commercial buildings, healthcare facilities, industrial environments, and other complex construction settings.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Project Leadership & Execution
  • Lead all phases of projects from kickoff through closeout, ensuring adherence to scope, schedule, budget, quality, and customer expectations.
  • Provide strong project management oversight for multiple concurrent EPMS and security system projects.
  • Develop and maintain project schedules, execution plans, resource plans, and risk mitigation strategies.
  • Ensure successful coordination of engineering, installation, commissioning, testing, and turnover activities.
  • Monitor project progress and proactively address issues that may impact delivery timelines or financial performance.
  • Manage project scope changes and ensure proper documentation, approvals, and customer communication.

Financial & Budget Management
  • Develop and manage project budgets, forecasts, labor utilization, and material expenditures.
  • Monitor job cost performance and project profitability throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Review and manage purchase orders, change orders, billing, collections, revenue recognition, and cost reporting.
  • Identify opportunities to improve project margins through effective planning and resource management.
  • Provide accurate forecasting and financial reporting to leadership.

Customer & Stakeholder Management
  • Serve as the primary customer contact throughout project execution.
  • Build and maintain strong customer relationships to ensure satisfaction and repeat business opportunities.
  • Conduct project meetings and provide regular status updates, risk assessments, and executive reports.
  • Coordinate with customers, consultants, contractors, vendors, and internal teams to ensure project success.
  • Resolve customer concerns and project issues in a timely and professional manner.

Team & Resource Management
  • Recruit, train, mentor, and develop project personnel in accordance with company policies.
  • Manage project staffing, workforce planning, subcontractors, and resource allocation.
  • Coordinate activities among field teams, engineers, programmers, and commissioning personnel.
  • Promote accountability, teamwork, and continuous professional development.

EPMS & Security Systems Oversight
  • Manage implementation of Electrical Power Monitoring Systems (EPMS), Access Control, Video Surveillance (CCTV), Intrusion Detection, Visitor Management, and integrated security platforms.
  • Coordinate system installation, integration, testing, commissioning, and acceptance activities.
  • Review design documents, equipment submittals, shop drawings, and as-built documentation.
  • Ensure systems meet customer requirements, design specifications, and applicable industry standards.
  • Support troubleshooting and resolution of technical issues during project execution.

Quality, Safety & Compliance
  • Enforce company safety policies, customer requirements, and OSHA regulations.
  • Monitor project quality standards and ensure compliance throughout installation and commissioning.
  • Conduct project reviews to verify adherence to specifications, codes, and best practices.
  • Ensure all project documentation is complete, accurate, and properly maintained.
  • Support quality assurance and continuous improvement initiatives.

Business Support
  • Assist with project estimates, proposals, budgeting, and preconstruction planning activities.
  • Participate in customer presentations, project reviews, and business development efforts.
  • Identify process improvement opportunities and implement best practices to improve operational efficiency.
  • Support strategic initiatives and special projects as assigned.

Required Qualifications

Qualifications

Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience managing projects within data centers, healthcare, commercial, industrial, education, or mission-critical environments.
  • Knowledge of Electrical Power Monitoring Systems (EPMS).
  • Experience with Access Control, CCTV, Intrusion Detection, Visitor Management, and integrated security platforms.
  • PMP (Project Management Professional) certification preferred.
  • Understanding of NFPA, NEC, OSHA, and industry security standards.
