Responsibilities

Full Job Description
Primoris T&D provides construction, maintenance, and engineering of electric Transmission, Distribution, and Substation infrastructure. Ancillary services include wireless telecommunication installation, environmental cleanup, project management, and storm restoration services.

The Transmission Project Manager is responsible for overseeing Transmission construction projects from initiation through closeout. This role supports the planning, scheduling, budgeting, and execution of assigned projects while ensuring compliance with company standards, safety requirements, and customer expectations. The Project Manager works under moderate supervision and collaborates closely with internal teams, contractors, and stakeholders to deliver projects safely, on time, and within budget.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support the planning, coordination, and execution of construction projects in accordance with scope, schedule, and budget.
  • Lead the development of project schedules, budgets, forecasts, and progress reports.
  • Collaborate with project coordinators to manage material and subcontractor procurement, ensure prompt handling of engineering submittals, and address construction requirements efficiently.
  • Monitor project progress and performance through regular updates and field visits.
  • Oversee progress updates, including change tracking and approval of change order requests, to ensure accurate and timely billing of completed work in accordance with the customer's billing requirements.
  • Coordinate with engineering, procurement, and construction teams to ensure project deliverables align with design and operational requirements.
  • Manage and track project documentation, including contracts, change orders, RFIs, and meeting minutes.
  • Identify and report project risks, issues, and variances; assist in developing mitigation strategies, corrective actions, and recovery plans.
  • Facilitate progress meetings and provide clear communication across all project stakeholders.
  • Assist in project closeout activities, including timely demobilization, documentation, and lessons learned.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications
Education & Experience
  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Physical Sciences, Business Administration, Accounting, or a related field required OR minimum 7+ years of project management experience in construction, utilities, or infrastructure.
  • Experience working with project management and analytical tools (e.g., Smartsheet, Power BI, Excel, MS Project, or Primavera).

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
  • Understanding construction project lifecycle, progress tracking, and cost management principles.
  • Ability to write and manage through execution plans for execution by the field and PMO
  • Ability to generate change orders themselves and manage them through execution.
  • Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, Smartsheet, and other project management tools.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Strong commitment to customer needs and project delivery excellence.
