Job Description

We are looking for a Project Manager, Traction Power in our Sacramento, CA office.

This role is responsible for managing electrical systems throughout the project lifecycle, from design and procurement through construction, testing, commissioning, energization, and operational handover.

The ideal candidate will combine strong project management expertise with technical knowledge of power systems, substations, medium-voltage distribution, utility coordination, and complex infrastructure delivery.
The Impact You'll Make (Job Responsibilities)

• Lead the delivery of traction power, medium voltage, and auxiliary power systems through design, procurement, construction, testing, commissioning, energization, and operational handover.
• Manage project scope, schedule, budget, risk, change management activities, and stakeholder engagement for electrical infrastructure work packages.
• Coordinate interfaces between power systems, utilities, SCADA, communications, signaling, facilities, operations, and other project disciplines.
• Manage utilities, contractors, suppliers, consultants, and commissioning teams to ensure successful project execution.
• Oversee the integration and delivery of substations, utility interconnections, medium-voltage distribution systems, power monitoring, protection systems, and related electrical infrastructure.
• Support permitting, utility coordination, regulatory approvals, energization readiness, and compliance activities required for system implementation and operation.
• Lead construction oversight, testing, commissioning, defect resolution, operational readiness, and final system acceptance activities.

Qualifications

The Expertise You'll Bring (Qualifications)

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related engineering discipline.
• 10+ years of experience delivering power systems, electrical infrastructure, utility, medium-voltage, transportation, or industrial projects.
• 10+ years of project management experience leading complex infrastructure, utility, energy, or transportation programs.
• Proven experience managing electrical systems through design, construction, testing, commissioning, energization, and operational acceptance.
• Experience with substations, medium-voltage distribution systems, utility interconnections, protective relays, SCADA systems, power monitoring systems, or related electrical infrastructure.
• Strong understanding of power system integration, utility coordination, construction delivery, and multidisciplinary project execution.
• Demonstrated ability to manage contractors, utilities, suppliers, budgets, schedules, permitting requirements, and stakeholder coordination on large-scale infrastructure projects.

Compensation & Pay Transparency

At Egis, we believe transparency helps candidates make informed career decisions. As part of our commitment to an open and equitable hiring process, we've included the anticipated base salary range for this position below.

Anticipated Base Salary Range:$160,000 - $240,000 annually.
