$94,831 - $128,022 - $161,213

SUMMARY:

Responsible for the overall direction and supervision of New Service Delivery (NSD) Project Managers Statewide, for distribution capital, operation, and maintenance activities. Supervises, trains, and directs Project Managers and provides administrative support to management.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Oversees Project Managers as they work on specific NSD projects from the time the Project Manager is assigned to completion (energization) to abide by PRC required deadlines. Also responsible for the execution of goals, program implementation, and projects within the Project Management function.

Promotes the development of ideas for new construction techniques and standards in order to provide efficient practices. Manages a high-volume workload in an area with complex utility systems.

Holds employees accountable to complete all projects in a timely and professional manner, while promoting a safe working environment.

Works with other Department Supervisors to ensure all resources are allocated to best meet customer and company needs. Ensures Department of Transportation (DOT), Occupational Health and Safety Administration (OSHA), and Governmental compliance.

Provides technical input for design for new construction, system reliability, and maintenance.

Reviews and approves design for new construction, system reliability, and maintenance. Ensure Project Managers are providing input for job scheduling and construction activities, may provide direct input when necessary.

Delegates task and project assignments to Project Managers. Oversees and may assist with the planning, coordination, and direction of large projects or several smaller projects.

Plans, organizes, and facilitates staff meetings with Project Managers on a regular and on-going basis.

COMPETENCIES:

Demonstrated ability to make independent decisions that require judgment, creativity and interpersonal skills.

Demonstrated ability to manage, oversee, and assist to ensure projects are completed on time and within budget.

Demonstrated ability to identify and resolve broad technical or organizational issues affecting Company goals and objectives.

Demonstrated ability to apply broad engineering principles to manage and inspect complex and unique construction projects, i.e., electric distribution systems, and interpret PNM and industry standards for design.

Demonstrated strong interpersonal, communication, and leadership skills. Must be able to negotiate, apply, and interpret complex business contracts.

General understanding of governmental rules and regulations and other PNM policies and procedures as they apply to their area of responsibility (ie. Right-of-Way, Environmental, etc.).

Demonstrated ability to promote a high-performance team by having and instilling a positive attitude, being self-motivated, and staying flexible to change.

QUALIFICATIONS

MINIMUM EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:

Bachelor's degree from four-year college or university with five to seven years related experience, including two years supervisory experience, or equivalent combination of education and/or experience related to the discipline.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS:

Must possess a current, legally valid driver's license and meet the Company's driving record requirements.

COMMUNICATION SKILLS:

Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations

Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals

Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:

Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume

Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry

COMPUTER SKILLS:

Knowledge of spreadsheet and word processing software

Advanced knowledge of BANNER and PassPort, FMS and other PNM Systems that are used by the team

ANALYSIS AND PROBLEM-SOLVING ABILITY:

Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to walk, sit, and/or stand up to 2/3 of the time. Requires fine dexterity. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 10 pounds. Travel required. May be exposed to occasional hazardous conditions on some job sites.

Field/Office environment.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to walk, sit, and/or stand up to 2/3 of the time. Requires fine dexterity.
