Full Job Description
We are looking for a Project Manager to lead commercial and industrial structural steel and precast erection projects in a specialty subcontractor environment, taking full ownership from project handoff through closeout. This role is responsible for driving project execution, maintaining schedules and budgets, and ensuring safe, high-quality field operations across multiple active projects. You'll work closely with field superintendents, fabricators, clients, and subcontractors to keep projects moving efficiently while resolving challenges before they impact schedule or cost. This is an excellent opportunity for a construction professional with experience managing steel erection or similar structural construction projects.

Responsibilities
  • Oversee structural steel and precast erection projects from preconstruction through final completion.
  • Develop and maintain project schedules, budgets, and manpower plans to keep projects on track.
  • Review contracts, drawings, specifications, and bid documents to ensure accurate project execution.
  • Lead project meetings with clients, field supervisors, fabricators, and subcontractors to resolve issues proactively.
  • Process RFIs, submittals, change orders, and project documentation while maintaining accurate records.
  • Coordinate material deliveries, equipment, crane schedules, and field logistics to support installation activities.
  • Monitor project costs, forecast financial performance, and identify opportunities to improve profitability.
  • Ensure all work is completed in compliance with safety standards, quality expectations, and contract requirements.
  • Support project closeout by completing punch lists, turnover documentation, and final project reporting.

Requirements
  • 5+ years of experience managing commercial or industrial construction projects.
  • Direct experience with structural steel, miscellaneous metals, precast concrete, or heavy industrial construction is strongly preferred.
  • Experience working for a specialty subcontractor, steel erector, or self-perform contractor.
  • Strong understanding of construction drawings, specifications, contracts, and project documentation.
  • Experience managing RFIs, submittals, change orders, scheduling, and project financials.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and construction management software such as Procore, Bluebeam, or similar platforms.
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills with the ability to build strong relationships with clients and field teams.
  • Candidates with residential-only construction experience or project coordinator-only backgrounds will not be a fit for this position.

Benefits
  • Compensation: Competitive salary based on experience.
  • Benefits may include health insurance, retirement plan options, paid time off, and other company-sponsored programs.
