DescriptionJob OverviewBaldor is seeking a Project Manager, Strategic Projects to lead the planning, coordination, and delivery of complex strategic initiatives. This role works closely with engineering, facilities, operations, safety and food safety, and business stakeholders to translate business requirements into technical project plans and ensure successful execution throughout the project lifecycle.
The Project Manager, Strategic Projects serves as the primary liaison between strategic projects teams and is responsible for managing the full lifecycle of technology projects, from requirements gathering and solution design through development, testing, deployment, and post-implementation support.
This role requires a strong foundation in project management, in order to effectively guide cross-functional teams and ensure successful delivery of scalable solutions.
Key ResponsibilitiesProject Planning and Execution- Define and document project scope, objectives, deliverables, and success metrics for strategic projects initiatives.
- Develop detailed project plans, timelines, and resource allocation strategies aligned with engineering and business priorities.
- Manage the full project Lifecycle, including requirements analysis, design, development, testing, deployment, and post-launch monitoring.
Technical Collaboration- Work closely with industrial engineers, facilities, operations and risk teams to translate business requirements into technical specifications.
- Evaluate technical approaches and collaborate with engineering leadership to determine optimal implementation strategies.
- Ensure that development efforts align with system architecture, data models, and technical standards.
Agile Project Management- Lead Waterfall and Agile ceremonies including initiation, planning, execution, and monitoring coupled with daily standups, and retrospectives.
- Manage project backlogs and prioritize technical tasks in coordination with leadership.
- Track project progress, technical dependencies, and delivery milestones.
Stakeholder Communication- Provide regular project updates to leadership and cross-functional stakeholders regarding project status, risks, and mitigation strategies.
- Communicate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders in a clear and actionable manner.
- Coordinate cross-departmental collaboration to ensure project alignment across engineering, operations, and business teams.
Performance Monitoring and Continuous Improvement- Monitor project performance using appropriate tools, metrics, and analytics.
- Identify process inefficiencies and recommend improvements to project management and development workflows.
- Implement best practices in project governance, documentation, and risk management.
Job Requirements- Bachelor's degree in Business Management, Project Management, Engineering, Data Science, or a closely related technical field.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in technical project management, project coordination, or program management.
- Strong knowledge of project development lifecycle and Waterfall/ Agile methodologies.
- Experience coordinating cross-functional engineering teams on complex initiatives.
- Working knowledge of Excel, with the ability to analyze and interpret technical data requirements.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to evaluate technical solutions.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with experience presenting technical information to business stakeholders.
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple concurrent projects and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred Qualifications- Familiarity with project management systems (e.g., Monday.com) and data tracking frameworks.
- Prior experience in food distribution, hospitality technology, or logistics technology environments.
- Project Management Professional (PMP) certification or similar project management credential.
Work Environment & SchedulePrimarily sedentary office or computer-based work involving extended periods of working with technical documentation, project management tools, and data systems. This position follows a hybrid schedule with four (4) days per week onsite at the Bronx, NY facility and one (1) day per week remote. Ability to work additional hours, weekends, or holidays as needed to support project deadlines or system implementations.
This position requires periodic travel to other Baldor facilities and out-of-state sites as needed to support project implementations.
