Overview:A well-established California-based General Contractor is seeking a
Project Manager with a strong background in commercial construction, specifically within the retail and restaurant sectors. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience managing ground-up, site work, and tenant improvement (TI) projects from preconstruction through closeout. Primary Duties:- Oversee all phases of retail and restaurant construction projects, including new builds and tenant improvements
- Perform estimating, take-offs, budgeting, and preconstruction planning
- Secure subcontracts, materials, and vendor agreements
- Collaborate with property owners, landlords, architects, engineers, and inspectors to ensure project alignment
- Create and manage detailed project schedules to meet key milestones and deadlines
- Lead and support field teams, ensuring quality control and timely progress
- Maintain clear communication with subcontractors, vendors, and internal teams
- Prepare and submit weekly updates, RFIs, change orders, and payment documentation
Requirements:- A minimum of 4+ years serving in a Project Manager role managing Commercial projects
- Experience in both Ground-up and Tenant Improvement projects
- Restaurant and Retail project background is strongly preferred
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and Microsoft Project; experience with Procore is highly desirable
- Solid understanding of construction methods, codes, and safety practices
- Ability to manage several projects concurrently with precision and accountability
- Comfortable working closely with clients, municipalities, and regulatory officials throughout the construction lifecycle
