Who we are looking for

We are looking for a Project Manager who develops and executes project plans for multiple simultaneous projects such as customer production programs, Lean event completion plans, and at times playing "fixer" to some troubled program. The role must lead cross-functional teams without direct report authority, and is ultimately responsible for all aspects surrounding a given project including communication, team accountability, schedule attainment, risk mitigation, issue resolution, and more. As a "Lead" Project Manager, also manage the project management team

As a "Lead" Project Manager, also manage the project management team.

  1. Essential Duties and Responsibilities (day-to-day)

Other responsibilities as assigned.
  • Develop and maintain comprehensive project plans including scope, schedule, milestones, resource requirements, budget, and metrics.
  • Simultaneously manage typically 5 or more projects of varying size, type, and complexity, including customer production programs (involving both inhouse production processes, and outside processes), Lean event completion plans, and other strategic initiatives, which often span multiple of CDI's 4 local sites, and at times involve other Re:Build entities elsewhere in the USA.
  • Coordinate efforts with Re:Build's Program Management Office (PMO), where applicable.
  • Implement and maintain project governance structures appropriate to project scale and complexity.
  • Lead cross-functional project teams and coordinate activities across departments, driving accountability without direct report authority.
  • Monitor project progress and performance such as quality metrics, production schedules, delivery commitments, costs and profit.
  • Identify and manage project risks, issues, and dependencies, and escalate appropriately with proposed solutions and mitigation strategies.
  • Identify critical path activities and proactively address constraints and bottlenecks.
  • Understand and apply customer and industry standards and specifications.
  • Facilitate problem-solving initiatives and drive teams toward resolution of technical and operational challenges.
  • Facilitate communication among stakeholders and team members, and with customers.
  • Provide regular status updates and reporting to leadership and stakeholders, and to customers.
  • Step in to "fix" troubled projects midstream (not all "projects" are projects from the outset).
  • Lead and/or participate in the preparation of proposals and quotes.
  • Synthesize data and information to guide business decisions.
  • Conduct project reviews and capture lessons learned, and apply accordingly to subsequent projects.
  • Manage, coach, and mentor other project managers (direct reports).
  • Serve as a point of escalation for other project managers.
  • Establish and maintain project management standards, processes, and best practices.

What You Bring

Three to five years of similar related experience
  • A college degree in a non-technical discipline (e.g., BBA, BA, or BFA)
  • Or Achievement of journeyman status in a recognized trade, (Achievement of formal certifications recognized in industry as equivalent to a bachelor's degree)
  • Or In-depth industry and job specific technical skills acquired through a combination of formal instruction and on-the-job training
