Project Manager

Sustainability
New York City, NY

Salary Range: $90,000

CodeGreen is seeking a Project Manager to join our Sustainability team in New York. The role reports to the Associate Director.

Overview

At CodeGreen, our Higher Performing Buildings team helps clients improve the safety, efficiency, sustainability, and resilience of their facilities. By combining expertise in building science, energy performance, building performance standards, sustainability regulations, and asset optimization, we help organizations make informed decisions that enhance occupant well-being, reduce risk, and maximize long-term value. This role supports that mission by delivering solutions that improve building performance and contribute to healthier, more sustainable, and higher-performing environments.

In this role, the Project Manager I is responsible for project execution and limited project management functions, generally within the practice under CodeGreen Sustainability (CGS). The PM-1 is capable of performing this role on multiple projects concurrently. This role balances hands-on technical proficiency with introductory project management duties to support efficient, high-quality deliveries and meeting client objectives. This role reports to the CGS Practice Team Lead, Associate Director or Director.

If you're passionate about energy efficiency, sustainability, and making real-world impact through data-driven engineering, we'd love to talk. As a senior member of our Energy Engineering team, you'll play a key role in energy audits, report delivery, reviews of work done by more junior team members, and client engagement - helping our clients make their buildings greener and more efficient.

Your Impact as Project Manager

Project Execution

  • Lead project delivery across multiple scopes within the CGS practice.
  • Participate in research, data collection/entry, calculation/analysis, document review, report writing, and other project tasks. Complete task work both under the direct guidance of a Project Manager and independently.
  • Provide timely completion of tasks and deliverables, including management of multiple concurrent project tasks. Maintain understanding of overall project timelines and progress and communicate effectively with Project Managers and AD / Director.
  • Provide best-in-class services and industry-leading client experience. Produce excellent quality deliverables for distribution to clients, ensuring both technical accuracy and non-technical value communication.
  • Contribute to the research and development of project tools and deliverables.

Project & Client Management

  • Support projects' main point of contact (POC) in select project management functions, including resource planning and project team coordination, client meetings, and administrative tasks.
  • Provide training, education, and engagement to key client stakeholders in areas of subject matter expertise.
  • Provide main point of contact (POC) and project management oversight for projects of limited complexity, primarily comprising scopes within the same CGS practice and with support from senior team members. For projects being managed autonomously, provide overall ownership of the project delivery, including the following responsibilities:
    • Leading client engagement throughout the delivery process to manage and meet client expectations
    • Defining overall project objectives, goals, and strategies to ensure successful execution and achievement
    • Managing deliverables and timelines, and coordinating tasks and responsibilities among Project Team members to ensure proper completion, quality, and delivery
    • Managing adherence to Contract terms and coordinating additional services as required
    • Managing project financial outcomes. Utilizing project management software to ensure project health and profitability through effective planning and resourcing, accurate revenue projections, and effective invoice planning. Assisting with AR collections as needed.
    • Support client teams in translating client needs into actionable strategies, ensuring feasibility and deliverables.
    • Coordinate with the Director / AD and/or Team Leads for adequate resourcing and workload distribution across projects being managed.
    • Identify project potential risks and provide proactive solutions to mitigate challenges.

Business Operations

  • Understand market trends to help guide future development of CodeGreen services
  • Assist in marketing and presenting CGS service offerings to clients, in areas of subject matter expertise
  • Implement CGS standard administrative protocols to support effective project management and business analytics.
  • Coordinate project billing processes, ensuring timely invoicing and clear financial tracking for each project being managed.
  • Maintain organized project documentation, including client communications, project updates, and compliance records.
