Job Summary

Logistics, Parking and Transportation is seeking a highly motivated and collaborative Project Manager to support the development, implementation, and evaluation of innovative parking, transportation, and demand management strategies serving faculty, staff, students, visitors, and campus operations.

This position will play a key role in advancing programs and projects that improve mobility, optimize parking resources, support transit operations, and contribute to institutional sustainability goals. The Project Manager will assist in identifying and implementing new strategies, technologies, infrastructure investments, and operational improvements that enhance access to campus while reducing single-occupancy vehicle demand and supporting a more efficient, equitable, and sustainable transportation system.

The successful candidate will bring knowledge of urban planning, transportation systems, sustainability principles, project management, and data-informed decision-making. Strong technical, analytical, communication, presentation, and graphic development skills are essential.

Responsibilities*

Transportation Demand Management and Strategic Planning

• Support the development of demand management strategies for parking and transportation operations serving faculty, staff, students, and campus visitors.
• Research, evaluate, and recommend best practices in transportation demand management, parking policy, transit operations, mobility services, and sustainable transportation.
• Assist in the creation of programs that encourage alternative transportation options, including transit, biking, walking, carpooling, vanpooling, and other shared mobility solutions.
• Analyze current parking and transit utilization patterns to identify opportunities for improved efficiency, access, customer experience, and sustainability.
• Support long-range planning efforts related to campus access, parking supply and demand, transit service, mobility hubs, and transportation infrastructure.

Project Development and Implementation

• Manage and support projects from concept through planning, procurement, implementation, and evaluation.
• Coordinate projects that may include capital facility improvements, parking and transit infrastructure, new technology systems, access control hardware, payment systems, real-time information tools, data platforms, and customer-facing mobility solutions.
• Develop project scopes, timelines, budgets, work plans, and performance measures.
• Coordinate with internal departments, campus partners, consultants, contractors, vendors, and external agencies to ensure successful project delivery.
• Monitor project progress, identify risks or barriers, and recommend solutions to keep projects on schedule and within budget.
• Assist with procurement activities, including preparing specifications, reviewing proposals, evaluating vendor solutions, and supporting contract implementation.

Parking and Transit Operations Support

• Work with parking and transit operations teams to identify operational needs and implement process improvements.
• Support the deployment and integration of new technology, equipment, and systems that improve operational performance and customer service.
• Evaluate parking and transit service data, including occupancy, ridership, permit use, route performance, customer feedback, and financial impacts.
• Assist in developing operational policies, procedures, reports, and communications related to new programs or system changes.
• Support service planning efforts that improve reliability, accessibility, and user experience across parking and transit services.

Data Analysis, Communication, and Reporting

• Collect, analyze, and summarize data to support planning, decision-making, project evaluation, and executive reporting.
• Prepare clear and compelling presentations, maps, graphics, dashboards, reports, and briefing materials for leadership, stakeholders, and campus audiences.
• Translate complex transportation, planning, and technical information into accessible formats for diverse audiences.
• Develop visual materials that communicate project concepts, alternatives, implementation plans, and performance outcomes.
• Support stakeholder engagement efforts, including meetings, workshops, surveys, presentations, and communication campaigns.

Sustainability and Campus Mobility

• Support initiatives that align parking and transportation operations with university sustainability, carbon reduction, and mobility goals.
• Evaluate strategies that reduce vehicle trips, improve transportation equity, and support multimodal access to campus.
• Monitor emerging trends in sustainable transportation, electrification, smart mobility, parking management, transit technology, and urban planning.
• Help identify funding opportunities, partnerships, and innovative approaches that advance sustainable campus transportation.

Required Qualifications*

• Bachelor's degree in Urban Planning, Transportation Planning, Public Administration, Civil Engineering, Sustainability, Business Administration, Architecture, Geography, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Experience supporting or managing projects in transportation, parking, urban planning, facilities, operations, technology implementation, sustainability, or a related field.
• Demonstrated understanding of transportation demand management, parking operations, transit systems, mobility planning, or sustainable transportation principles.
• Strong project management skills, including the ability to organize work, manage timelines, coordinate stakeholders, and deliver results.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret data and develop practical recommendations.
• Excellent written, verbal, and visual communication skills.
• Strong computer and technical skills, including experience preparing presentations, reports, graphics, maps, or data visualizations.
• Ability to work collaboratively with diverse stakeholders, including operational teams, campus partners, vendors, consultants, and leadership.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic operational environment.

Desired Qualifications*

• Master's degree in Urban Planning, Transportation Planning, Public Policy, Sustainability, Civil Engineering, Business Administration, or a related field.
• Experience in a university, municipal, transit agency, parking authority, transportation planning, or large institutional setting.
• Familiarity with parking management systems, access and revenue control systems, license plate recognition, transit technology, fare/payment systems, real-time passenger information, GIS, or mobility data platforms.
• Experience with capital project planning, technology implementation, procurement, vendor coordination, or facilities-related projects.
• Experience with data analysis tools, GIS, Adobe Creative Suite, Microsoft Power BI, Tableau, AutoCAD, SketchUp, or similar design and visualization platforms.
• Knowledge of sustainability frameworks, climate action planning, transportation emissions reduction strategies, or multimodal transportation planning.
• Project management certification or training, such as PMP, CAPM, Lean, Six Sigma, or equivalent experience.
• Experience developing stakeholder presentations, public-facing materials, or executive-level briefings.
