Technical Project Manager to lead a large-scale cloud migration program and coordinate business, technical, vendor, and enterprise service teams. The role requires strong IT project management expertise, hands-on familiarity with AWS or comparable cloud platforms, and the ability to operate effectively within formal governance structures. The successful candidate will be accountable for project planning, delivery, risk management, stakeholder coordination, reporting, and quality across the full technology lifecycle.
Must Haves - Extensive experience managing IT projects with accountability for delivery, resources, schedules, and project finances.
- Demonstrated experience with AWS services, cloud migration initiatives, or comparable cloud platforms such as Azure.
- Strong knowledge of software development lifecycle (SDLC) methodologies and enterprise technology project delivery.
- Experience managing testing activities across functional, system, integration, performance, user acceptance, and security testing.
- Proven ability to manage project governance, risks, issues, dependencies, corrective actions, and formal change-control processes.
- Strong leadership and stakeholder management skills, including experience coordinating vendors, technical teams, business users, and senior leadership.
- Excellent written, verbal, presentation, problem-solving, and facilitation skills.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Information Systems, Information Management, or a related discipline, or equivalent professional experience.
What the Client Needs You to Do The Technical Project Manager will provide end-to-end leadership for a complex cloud migration initiative, ensuring that technical delivery remains aligned with business objectives and enterprise architecture standards. The role will coordinate multiple technical teams and vendors through discovery, design, development, migration, testing, training, and operational transition. Success requires disciplined governance, proactive risk management, clear communication, accurate reporting, and consistent adherence to established technology, security, quality, and release management practices.
Key Responsibilities - Lead overall project governance, monitoring, schedule management, issue resolution, corrective actions, status reporting, and delivery quality.
- Oversee project and vendor activities, ensuring schedules, milestones, dependencies, deliverables, and reporting remain on track.
- Coordinate business and technical requirements gathering and support the review of system architecture and design documentation.
- Lead security, privacy, shared-services, technical, and business stakeholder meetings as required.
- Coordinate technical teams throughout discovery, design, build, migration, testing, training, piloting, and go-live activities.
- Develop and maintain integrated roadmaps, project plans, work breakdown structures, timelines, checklists, task assignments, and deliverable schedules.
- Identify, document, monitor, and mitigate project risks while maintaining appropriate escalation processes.
- Build productive relationships with technology leadership, business stakeholders, vendors, project teams, enterprise service organizations, and end users.
- Define resource requirements, delivery timeframes, staffing needs, and funding requirements while monitoring resource utilization.
- Track project budgets, costs, payments, procurement activities, and vendor contracts when assigned.
- Allocate resources and prioritize workloads to maintain project quality, continuity, and timely delivery.
- Review and approve project deliverables across requirements, design, implementation, testing, training, piloting, and deployment phases.
- Ensure project documentation meets organizational standards, audit requirements, repository controls, and version-management practices.
- Enforce formal change management procedures and maintain configuration documentation supporting operational continuity.
- Manage change orders and contract amendments when required.
- Prepare clear project status reports, executive updates, presentations, and other decision-support materials.
- Apply established IT, security, quality assurance, change management, and release management standards throughout the project lifecycle.

- Work Arrangement: Hybrid, with a combination of onsite and remote work
- Schedule: Monday-Friday, 9:00 AM-5:00 PM Eastern Time

- Reporting Structure: Reports to technology program leadership and works closely with enterprise IT, business, security, architecture, vendor, and project management stakeholders.
- Technology Tools: Microsoft Office, Microsoft Project, Visio, SharePoint, Jira, Microsoft Teams, or comparable enterprise collaboration and project management platforms.
- Certification: Professional project management certification is preferred.
