What we needWe are looking for an experienced Project Manager to join Exol's Operations team. In this highly visible role, you will keep teams aligned, ensure seamless project execution, and proactively manage risks. The Project Manager for Operations plays a critical role in bringing Exol's automation solutions to life. We oversee projects from planning to system acceptance, ensuring they are delivered on time, on budget, and to the highest quality standards. Acting as the central connection point between operations and technical teams, stakeholders, and customers, we create clarity, drive accountability, and ensure each project delivers measurable value to our clients and to the business.
What you'll do - Serve as the primary operations liaison across Automation, Engineering, IT, Facilities, and Staffing throughout the facility launch lifecycle - from construction turnover through steady-state operations.
- Facilitate cross-functional meetings, providing clear and consistent updates to both internal and external stakeholders to keep projects on track.
- Develop process flows, labor models, and staffing plans that connect automation system design to operational headcount requirements.
- Lead cross-functional teams through the execution phase of the project, from early site preparation and coordination to final system acceptance, while maintaining a strong focus on project goals.
- Build readiness checklists and operational acceptance criteria that define what "ready to operate" means for each team before go-live.
- Conduct post-launch performance analysis to close the loop between design intent and actual results.
- Foster a culture built on transparency, timely decision-making, and strong partnerships across all project participants.
What you'll need - Bachelor's degree in industrial engineering, supply chain management, Engineering, Logistics, Business Administration, or a related field preferred.
- Minimum of 5 years' experience managing large automation, material handling, or construction projects.
- Proven experience in scheduling, scope, cost, and risk management for complex technical projects.
- Background in robotic automation, ASRS, or material handling preferred.
- Experience managing design/build, installation, and construction projects.
- Skilled at stakeholder management across clients, contractors, and engineering teams.
- Track record of delivery on time and within budget.
- Strong problem-solving under pressure and ability to implement creative solutions.
- Effective negotiator with proven ability to balance competing priorities.
- Proficient with scheduling software, earned value management, and data-driven performance tracking (Smartsheet / Jira)
Our environment- Up to 25% travel may be required. Employees must have a valid driver's license and the ability to drive and/or fly to client and other customer locations.
- The employee is responsible for owning a credit card and managing expenses personally to be reimbursed on a bi-weekly basis.
