Full Job Description
D.R. Horton, Inc. is currently looking for a Project Manager. The right candidate is responsible for the planning and execution of the project, monitoring and reporting progress, and supervising all field personnel assigned to a multi-unit project. Ensure quality control on site throughout the entire construction process. Implement all company policies and procedures to achieve the objectives of the project.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
  • Responsible for a project's organization, timeline and delivering project on time within budget
  • Plan and direct the construction activities of field personnel and other staff as assigned to the project
  • Manage the set-up of temporary project facilities and utilities
  • Manage all project specific correspondence and documentation; including submittals, change requests, and daily field reports
  • Manage project budget, review field purchase orders, and provide reporting
  • Ensure that all work that is invoiced is fully acceptable to company specifications and is 100% complete
  • Ensure that all homes in the construction area meet all safety standards in accordance with OSHA and state regulations and are constructed to contract, specification, and detail
  • Manage project turn-over to Customer Service, including the completion of punch-list items, and ensure that all walk-through forms are signed and completed for homeowner orientations and occupancy
  • Maintain total involvement with the training, communication, and development of Superintendents and field personnel
  • Work closely with the sales, customer service, and management teams to ensure open communication on all matters; develop a strong environment conducive to proactive resolution of issues and strong commitment to producing a quality product
  • Establish and maintain relationships with subcontractors and City inspectors & officials
  • Handle escalated issues with subcontractors
  • Walk site to determine construction status and ensure quality control
  • Respond to unsatisfactory survey cards and NRS responses
  • Manage project close-out and final documentation
  • Conducts all business in a professional and ethical manner to serve customers and increase the goodwill and profit of the company
  • Ability to travel overnight

Education and/or Experience
  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
  • Five years of related experience and/or training
  • Must have a vehicle and a valid driver's license
  • Project planning, time management and leadership skills
  • High degree of construction knowledge and management skills
  • Ability to read, understand and interpret construction documents, drawings, specifications, scopes of work and project schedules
  • General knowledge of municipal permitting, regulations and building codes
  • Ability to converse with customers, all levels of management and personnel
  • Superb interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills
  • Demonstrated commitment to customer satisfaction
  • Ability to control cost overruns and manage a budget
  • Solid organizational skills including attention to detail and multi-tasking skills
  • Ability to utilize DRH Construction applications on a smart phone, tablet, or laptop
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written oral form or via DRH applications
  • Proficiency with MS Office and email
  • Ability to stand and walk for 4 hours straight or up to a full 8-hour day; sit for extended periods; kneel and bend at the waist; climb, balance and stoop, crouch or crawl; walk up and down stairs; climb ladders and scaffolding; walk on unlevel terrain; use hands and fingers to handle or feel; reach with hands and arms; talk and hear. Ability to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision and peripheral vision
  • Regular exposure to outside weather conditions, moving mechanical parts, high precarious places and risk of electrical shock
  • The noise level is generally loud
