Full Job Description
The Opportunity with McKinstry

We are seeking a Project Manager - Electrical Service to join our growing Electrical Construction Western Washington division. In this role, you will own the full lifecycle of electrical service and small-to-medium project work, from scoping and estimating through scheduling, execution, billing, and customer retention. You are the day-to-day point of contact for service accounts across commercial facilities, light industrial, health care, and mixed-use properties, and the operational lead for your assigned project portfolio.

What You'll Do
  • Manage a portfolio of electrical service accounts and owner-direct projects ranging from T&M work orders to lump-sum projects up to $1M.
  • Develop scopes of work, estimates, and proposals for new and existing service accounts
  • Coordinate scheduling and dispatch of electricians and service technicians to ensure efficient coverage of service calls, planned maintenance, and project work
  • Manage job cost, WIP, and billing for T&M and lump sum projects; prepare change orders and monitor project margin
  • Serve as primary client point of contact for assigned service accounts; support contract renewals and service agreement expansions
  • Manage permitting and coordinate AHJ inspections for project scope
  • Grow the electrical service account base through internal and external business development activities
  • Enforce McKinstry safety standards on all service work; participate in safety observations and incident reporting in compliance with OSHA requirements
  • Collaborate across McKinstry internal teams including: mechanical, plumbing, fire protection, to support multi-trade scopes and internal electrical requests
  • Provide technical oversight and field support to technicians to ensure quality workmanship and code compliance
  • Analyze service metrics and work order performance; recommend operational improvements to increase profitability and customer satisfaction
  • Ensure compliance with company policies and applicable electrical, life safety, and building codes

What You Need to Succeed
  • 3-5 years of experience managing commercial electrical service work or electrical project management, including direct coordination of electricians or service technicians
  • Strong working knowledge of NEC, NFPA 70E, Life Safety Codes, and Washington State electrical permitting requirements
  • Familiarity with motor controls, variable frequency drives (VFDs), three-phase power distribution, and industrial panel work in a commercial or light industrial service environment.
  • Experience developing T&M and lump sum estimates and proposals for commercial electrical projects
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel required); experience with ERP/construction management software such as ViewPoint or equivalent; Salesforce experience a plus
  • Familiarity with facility maintenance programs, PM standards, and preventive maintenance planning
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills; ability to manage competing priorities across multiple active projects and accounts
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced service environment with both reactive (emergency) and planned work
  • Proven track record of building and maintaining client relationships in a service environment
  • Washington State electrical license (EL01) is a plus

The pay range for this position is $93,600 - $163,400 per year; however, base pay offered may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. A bonus may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the position offered. Base pay information is based on market location.
