NOW HIRING: Project Manager - Commercial Construction • Design/Build

LOCATION: Charlotte NC

EXPERIENCE: 5+ Years Commercial PM

Position Summary

We are seeking a Project Manager to lead multiple commercial construction projects in the Charlotte market. This role is responsible for full project lifecycle management, from preconstruction through closeout, ensuring projects are delivered safely, on time, and within budget. This is a leadership role ideal for a design/build PM who thrives in a fast-paced environment and enjoys owning both field and office execution.

Key Responsibilities

  • Collaborates with Preconstruction to prepare, review, and monitor information and reports related to all costs involved in developing the project budgets.
  • Finalizes and manages project budgets.
  • Knows and understands the requirements of owner's contract, including bonds, fees, notifications, schedules, reporting, and costs.
  • Participates in proposal meetings with the owner to review the scope of work, discuss ways to reduce costs, and provide value engineering ideas
  • Manages the subcontracting process, which includes holding initial scope review meetings, finalizing agreed price, developing subcontract scope of work, and managing the subcontract distribution and final execution process.
  • Is responsible for onsite construction activity. Plans all construction operations and schedules intermediate phases to ensure deadlines will be met
  • Reviews the contract documents with all project participants (e.g., clients, employees, subcontractors, suppliers, government regulators, utilities) to ensure work is completed on time and within budget.
  • Coordinates and delivers all requirements for subcontractors and suppliers to meet project schedules.
  • Ensures that project site and company assets are secure and always maintains a safe and respectful working environment by implementing programs for safety and loss prevention, Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO), risk management, training, and quality control.
  • Acts in a manner of integrity that shows support for the company, its values, and other associates, while maintaining a constant focus on meeting/exceeding customer requirements and expectations


Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree (Construction management preferred)
  • 5 plus years project management experience
  • Design/build experience preferred
  • Proficiency using Word, Excel, Outlook, and Microsoft Project
  • Experience with Procore and Microsoft Project tools is preferred.
  • Open to travel

  • Strong scheduling skills (able to build CPM schedules / Gantt charts)
  • Project financial management (budgeting, cost control, tracking)
  • Prior design/build or GC construction experience
  • Experience with Procore and Microsoft Project, with the ability to quickly adapt to project-specific workflows and requirements
  • Solid understanding of owner contracts, bonding, and project reporting requirements
  • A strong leader who takes ownership of complex projects from preconstruction through closeout
  • Someone who thrives in a fast-paced, field-driven environment
  • A problem solver who can manage multiple priorities simultaneously
  • A communicator who can lead teams, clients, subcontractors, and suppliers effectively
  • Acts with integrity and consistently upholds company values while exceeding customer expectations
