Full Job Description
ROLE OVERVIEW:

The Project Manager will successfully manage all projects and/or tasks to exceed the expectations of the clients, both external and internal. Responsible for cost controls, daily production analysis, crew performance, regular site visits, documentation and reporting of site visits, schedule, quality of construction, and staff training.

Typical schedule is Monday - Friday with Saturday as need. The schedule will vary based upon the job and customer demand.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS (minimum educational, experience, or other relevant job requirements)
  1. Computer and Technical Skills. Proficient in HCSS, Microsoft Office, P6.
  2. Minimum of 5 years of experience in Heavy Civil and Commercial types of construction and methods of project delivery.
  3. Industry Knowledge.
  4. Experience with development of sites, utilities, and infrastructure.
  5. Previous experience with contracts and agreements for affecting construction and subcontracting.
  6. Must be able to lead both clients externally and project team members internally.
  7. Ability to hold and maintain proper licensure, medical card and acceptable driving record.
  8. Ability to work flexible shifts, including overtime, possible nights and some Saturdays.

DUTIES AND/OR RESPONSIBILITIES (summary of components that make up the job)
  1. Safety - The PM must be able to implement all safety standard operating procedures. Assist with conducting safety-related trainings and meetings when necessary.
  2. Cost Control and Communication - The PM is responsible for Cost Control, Communication, and Documentation which include oversight of daily production analysis, communication of findings to senior management, recommending improved efficiencies to field management, finding better alternatives to increase production and reduce cost, determining accuracy and taking appropriate actions when necessary.
  3. Prepare and/or review daily, weekly and monthly reports as required; determine accuracy and take appropriate actions when necessary.
  4. Perform submittal and invoice approval progress and take appropriate actions when necessary.
  5. Ensure the timeliness and effectiveness of all project documentation.
  6. Review all subcontracts, purchase orders and change orders on all projects under his/her control and approve for signature.
  7. Communicate or monitor communication with project team members and ensure that all communication is professional, timely and necessary.
  8. Act as contact between Owner's project manager and construction project superintendent on site to ensure development plans are followed through.
  9. Preconstruction: Incorporate and balance the interests of Construction and Management divisions into the project. Analyze estimates, takeoffs and bids and make award decisions.
  10. Evaluate scope of work and determine if they are written to maximize benefit to the Project.
  11. Evaluate construction documents for compliance and completeness.
  12. Quality Assurance and Quality Control: Understanding the QA/QC plan, associated activities, and reports required.
  13. Ensure MSHA, OSHA, EPA, DNR, safety and environmental regulation compliance.
  14. Always work safely and take action to prevent any and all unsafe actions, processes, and behaviors.
  15. Perform other duties as assigned.

  1. Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  2. Strong time management required; organizational, planning and time management abilities are critical to solve problems creatively, manage/schedule multiple priorities, and adhere to deadlines.
  3. Ability to prepare and manage project budgets, including preparation of funding requests, project proposals, change orders, and invoices. Responsible for ensuring that all are approved, contracted, and paid on time as needed to keep the project moving forward
  4. Must be capable of representing the company in a professional manner.
  5. Able to work independently and under time constraints.
