DescriptionProvide on site PM/CM services as an Owner's Representative, to oversee construction projects within a Community College District capital improvement program, including program level management and coordination.
Duties and Responsibilities- Responsible for advising contractors and district staff on greening project issues and provides technical supervision to inspectors
- Manages and coordinates the project team, other District staff and contractors particularly in communicating directives and ensures that project scope is built according to plans and specifications as well as cost limits
- Advises and provides technical direction to Commissioned or Consultant Architects, Landscape Architects, and Civil Engineers on District guidelines, policies and procedures for the design and construction of greening projects, including hardscape, planting, accessibility upgrades, and irrigation.
- Plans, organizes, directs, and reports project management activities and progress to Executive Staff
- Reviews drawings and specifications submitted by Commissioned or Consultant Architects, Landscape Architects, and Civil Engineers or vendors to ensure conformance to District policies and guidelines and to determine possible conflicts with design, structural, architectural, or engineering features; requests required revisions from concerned parties to resolve issues
- Advises Consultants, Commissioned Architects and Engineers and other District staff on technical issues encountered during the construction phase of greening projects
- Provides technical direction to Sustainability Department staff in the preparation of designs, specifications, and cost estimates of greening projects
- Performs daily contract administration duties, including assisting the Senior Project Manager and Sustainability Staff in bid analysis, pre-construction meetings and related award coordinating activities
- Manages, oversees, and coordinates all facets of the construction phase of a greening project including mobilization, construction, and close-out
- Performs other duties as assigned
RequirementsEducation and Experience- Bachelor's degree in Architecture, Landscape Architecture, or Civil Engineering is preferred
- 5 or more years of professional experience in Project/Construction Management.
- Experience working with public school project and DSA required
Work EnvironmentWhile performing the duties of this job, the employee must regularly work in an office and/or construction environment. Conditions regularly include exposure to outdoor elements, hot/cold temperatures, wet conditions, noise, atmospheric conditions, and cramped quarters. The noise level in the work environment is occasionally loud.
Physical RequirementsWhile performing the duties of this job, the employee must regularly sit, stand, walk, talk, or hear and use hands to finger, feel and handle; frequently reach with hands and arms; occasionally climb or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus. Must frequently lift and or move 10 pounds and occasionally lift and or move up to 50 pounds.
License and CertificationsA valid driver's license with an acceptable motor vehicle record, free from suspensions or restrictions, is required.
Travel RequirementsThe position is based on site in Fairfield, CA within a community college district.
