Position Summary:

The Information Services (IS) Applications Project Manager (PM) is responsible for the selection, planning, implementation, evaluation, end-user (user) support and vendor relations service management of major application initiatives. This position is accountable for all aspects of project management associated with the selection and implementation of designated applications. The IS PM functions in a collaborative role with an established user application project manager. This position is responsible for managing the customer-supplier relationship between IS and established operational group(s). The IS PM is accountable for developing a liaison relationship which requires field work, understanding work processes indigenous to the operational group, and developing a system or methodology to support the work of the operational group from a technical or systems perspective. The IS PM is responsible for establishing vendor relationships for both the term of the project and for on-going service management. The IS PM must have a thorough knowledge of how information technology systems work in concert to provide services to the user community and support the goals of the organization. Must possess a thorough understanding of health related applications and be able to apply technology to solve user problems.

Education, License & Cert:

Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Healthcare Administration or related field strongly desired or an equivalent combination of education and experience

Experience:

2 years Demonstrated Project Leadership Health care experience preferred

Essential Functions:

1. Contacts and meets with customers to suggest and discuss the development of new systems, the evaluation of existing systems, and the acquisition of vendor packages by developing a comprehensive understanding of the customer's requirements.

2. Serves as the IS Project Manager, in conjunction with an operational Project Leader for major system implementations providing all aspects of project management associated with the implementations.

3. Identifies user needs and assesses the scope of projects. Develop system alternatives to meet user needs, including cost estimates.

4. Works with vendor and operational teams to prepare implementation plans concerning systems development, modifications, and installation/implementation of vendor systems.

5. Assists Operational Team with workflow impact analysis.

6. Monitors project budgets and resolves budget issues with Vendor Management Team or proper Guthrie Team.

7. Works with Vendor Project Team and Vendor Management Team to resolve issues and/or risks that could impact the project timeline, scope, or cost.

8. Develops and maintains the necessary procedures to assure an efficient flow of user requests for IS application resources for projects and on-going service support.

9. Enforces technical standards applicable to applications development Maintains current knowledge of technology and industry trends with particular emphasis to technology related to the health care industry and the business drivers of the Healthcare System.

10. Promotes continuous quality improvement, reengineering, and supports tenets of a learning organization.
