The Institutional Client Group (ICG) Project Manager is responsible for leading and delivering strategic initiatives that support business growth, operational excellence, client experience enhancements, regulatory requirements, and organizational transformation across the ICG organization. This role partners closely with senior leaders, relationship managers, product specialists, operations, technology teams, and other stakeholders to plan, execute, and implement complex, cross-functional projects.

The Project Manager oversees all phases of assigned projects, from initial concept and requirements gathering through implementation, change management, training, and post-implementation evaluation. Successful candidates will demonstrate strong leadership capabilities, exceptional organizational skills, and the ability to drive results in a fast-paced, highly matrixed environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the planning, execution, and delivery of strategic business and technology-related projects across Institutional Client Group.
  • Partner with business leaders and stakeholders to identify opportunities, define project scope, establish objectives, and align project outcomes with organizational priorities.
  • Develop comprehensive project plans, including timelines, milestones, resource requirements, budgets, risks, and success measures.
  • Coordinate and manage cross-functional project teams consisting of business, operations, technology, risk, compliance, and product partners.
  • Monitor project performance and proactively identify, escalate, and resolve risks, issues, and dependencies.
  • Facilitate project meetings, status updates, executive communications, and stakeholder presentations.
  • Ensure projects are completed on time, within scope, and aligned with business objectives and regulatory requirements.
  • Lead change management activities, including process documentation, training development, user adoption strategies, and implementation support.
  • Analyze business processes, data, and operational workflows to identify efficiencies and support continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Evaluate project outcomes, gather stakeholder feedback, and recommend enhancements or future opportunities.
  • Support strategic planning efforts and organizational initiatives that advance ICG business objectives.
  • Mentor project team members and contribute to the development of project management best practices and standards.
  • Maintain a strong understanding of ICG products, services, client segments, and operating models to effectively support business initiatives.


Basic Qualifications
  • Master's degree, or equivalent work experience.
  • 10 or more years of experience in project management activities.


Preferred Skills/Experience
  • Comprehensive knowledge of Institutional Client Group, Corporate Banking, Commercial Banking, Treasury Management, Payments, Capital Markets, or related financial services organizations.
  • Advanced knowledge of project management methodologies, tools, and governance practices.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead large-scale initiatives involving multiple stakeholders and business functions.
  • Strong leadership, influencing, and relationship management skills within a matrixed organization.
  • Exceptional organizational, analytical, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to identify risks, analyze complex data, resolve exceptions, and make sound business recommendations.
  • Experience managing competing priorities while maintaining focus on execution and delivery.
  • Strong process improvement and change management capabilities.
  • Excellent verbal, written, and presentation communication skills, including experience presenting to senior and executive leadership.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, project management tools, and reporting platforms.


Location expectations

This role requires working from a U.S. Bank location three (3) or more days per week.

The salary range reflects figures based on the primary location, which is listed first. The actual range for the role may differ based on the location of the role. In addition to salary, U.S. Bank offers a comprehensive benefits package, including incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase 401(k) contribution and pension (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements). Pay Range: $119,765.00 - $140,900.00
