Job Description:

As a key member of the engineering team, the Project Manager reports to the Project Management Manager and is responsible for executing multifaceted projects with our customers. LOCATION: Greenville, SC site office.

This position is the primary customer contact and is also responsible for leading, planning and administering multiple complex projects (Typically $5 MM plus) through completion to drive targeted margins while building and maintaining professional relationships with our customers. This position coordinates between the customer, sales, engineering, and manufacturing to ensure the project results meet the customer's technical and lead time requirements. This position understands our machine standards strategy, delivers leading application design and project management services. The individual in this position will leverage customer relationships to influence project success and future business and will provide leadership to the project teams.

The position will be based at our headquarters in Greenville, South Carolina.

Roles and Responsibilities:
  • Primary customer contact and responsible for leading, planning, and executing projects with guidance.
  • Coordinate with sales and applications team to assist in budget entry and purchase order reconciliation.
  • Assist in creation of project schedule, resource planning, and critical milestones to meet project deadlines.
  • Monitor the progress of the project against the project schedule and effectively communicate to team members.
  • Collaborate with cross functional teams including engineering, manufacturing, sales, finance, and service on projects.
  • Support project team with monitoring project financials, forecasts, and overall project profitability.
  • Proactively identify any project risk and provide recommendations to mitigate impacts including communication to key stakeholders.
  • Identify and process change order requests and assist with price preparation, planning and schedule alignment.
  • Coordinate Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT) and support customer visits.
  • Drive project closeout procedures through completion to obtain client acceptance and trigger payments.
  • Assist with the creation of OEM specification packages and bid requests
  • May assist with the creation of Construction Bid Packages and conducting contractor site walks
  • Assist with site surveys and attend customer kick off meetings
  • Participate in 80/20 workshops and ITW Toolbox projects as necessary.
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering and 3 years of related experience or a minimum of 5 years of related experience if no engineering degree
  • Minimum 3 years of experience within project management and experience managing industrial or manufacturing projects.
  • Collaborative mindset and able to interact effectively with engineering and manufacturing personnel, and actively participates and drives effective teams
  • Ability to complete entry-level complexity projects with guidance from leadership and PM team to meet and exceed customer requirements.
  • Base knowledge of the competitor landscape within our industry.
  • Fundamental knowledge of general accounting and revenue recognition practices to accurately provide detailed financial outlooks.
  • Experience with capital equipment project execution, including project financial management.
  • Strong ability to define a problem, determine root cause, and develop corrective action plan.
  • Develops a range of technical solutions autonomously and in partnership with internal functions and external bodies (i.e. suppliers, vendors, and customers).
  • Ability to clearly present technical information in and to lead project/team meetings
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and drive sustainable results through continuous improvement and ITW Toolbox initiatives.
  • Effectively applies the ITW Toolbox and project management best practices in all activities.
  • Excellent interpersonal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent time management, organization and prioritization skills.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Willing to travel when necessary ~25%

Preferred Requirements:
  • Industry experience with secondary packaging machinery and line layout with emphasis on the core markets that we serve which are food, beverage and personal and household care.
  • 'Knowledge of Electrical System schematics, electrical panel designs, Electrical components (motors, drives, servos, switches, sensors, etc.) utilized in automated packaging systems, including both Rockwell and Siemens platforms.
  • PMP Certification
