Project Manager III, VITAL

Vital is currently recruiting for a Senior Project Manager to lead the planning, execution, and delivery of multiple concurrent projects and workstreams within the Vital portfolio. This role will oversee complex initiatives spanning technology infrastructure, data management, research platforms, governance, and stakeholder engagement across participating provinces and partner organizations. The successful candidate will provide leadership to multidisciplinary teams, manage project budgets, risks, dependencies, and timelines, drive alignment across technical and operational stakeholders, and ensure projects are delivered on time, on budget, and in accordance with Vital and participating jurisdictions organizational, privacy, and governance requirements.
Duties & Responsibilities
Utilizes full understanding and knowledge of large scale and complex projects to facilitate the optimal delivery of projects across multiple streams within the Vital network, including technology, data, and operational initiatives.
Conducts sophisticated needs assessment to define scope, goals, deliverables, schedules, timelines and dependencies.
Develops and leads implementation of large scale and complex project plans to ensure delivery on time and budget and in compliance with organizational requirements.
Develops and executes communication, governance and project management strategies that support stakeholder alignment, risk management and successful delivery.
Communicates project plans, dependencies, risks and requirements. Defines project success criteria and utilizes analytical tools to support decision making.
Establishes communication plans, best practices and tools; manages deliverables, milestones, operational readiness, dependencies, risks, scope, budgets and post-project evaluations.
Strategizes on recruitment, managing, and developing project team members; delegates responsibilities; provides leadership, mentoring, performance management and knowledge transfer.
Leads project documentation, reporting, monitoring, meetings, presentations and quality improvement activities; develops metrics and monitors key performance indicators.
Participates in stakeholder committees and develops collaborative relationships with healthcare, academic and technology partners.
Qualifications
Eight (8) or more years of project management experience leading complex health care, digital health, data, or technology initiatives.
PMP certification; PMI ACP or equivalent project management credentials considered an asset.
Bachelor's degree in Health Informatics, Information Management, Computer Science, Data Science, or related fields; master's degree considered an asset.
Demonstrated experience leading large-scale health data, digital health, research, or analytics initiatives involving multiple organizations and stakeholders.
Excellent facilitation, collaboration, negotiation, presentation, verbal and written communication skills.
Excellent customer service, interpersonal, organizational, time management, analytical, problem recognition and problem-solving skills.
Excellent computer skills including Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project, Jira or similar tools.
Expertise in operational excellence, quality improvement, and change management.
Strong understanding of provincial health care systems, clinical and research processes, and health data.
Experience delivering cloud, hybrid-cloud, infrastructure, or enterprise technology implementation projects.
Knowledge of data governance, data quality, metadata management, privacy, health information management, system integration, interoperability and cybersecurity.
Ability to manage multiple complex projects and interconnected workstreams while developing integrated, creative solutions.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively, utilize initiative and self-direction, adapt to change, maintain confidentiality, and work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
