Full Job Description
The Project Manager II - Thermal-Hydraulic Testing will manage a major containment testing project supporting Holtec's small modular reactor program. This role serves as the primary project interface among internal test sponsors, engineering and licensing stakeholders, and the testing partner. The Project Manager is responsible for maintaining alignment among project scope, schedule, budget, contractual commitments, and technical deliverables. Successful execution will produce high-quality thermal-hydraulic test data used to support nuclear licensing activities and critical design decisions.

Location: Camden, NJ (Hybrid eligible) - Relocation Assistance Available!

Shift: Monday-Friday, standard business hours; flexibility may be required during major milestones and test execution

Primary Responsibilities
  • Lead the containment testing project from planning and facility development through test execution, data delivery, and project closeout
  • Serve as the primary project interface among test sponsors, engineering and licensing stakeholders, Holtec management, and test vendor
  • Establish and monitor project budgets, forecasts, commitments, expenditures, and resource requirements
  • Translate sponsor and stakeholder needs into clearly defined project scope, deliverables, milestones, priorities, and acceptance criteria
  • Manage vendor performance and contractual commitments, including scope, schedule, budget, deliverables, changes, and corrective actions
  • Identify and manage project risks, issues, dependencies, and changes, including development of mitigation and recovery plans
  • Coordinate technical reviews, procurement activities, facility development, test readiness, test execution, and final data delivery
  • Provide timely project status reporting on schedule performance, budget performance, risks, decisions, and required management actions
  • Ensure project documentation and deliverables meet applicable contractual, quality assurance, configuration control, and nuclear project requirements
  • Facilitate project decision-making by documenting actions, responsibilities, due dates, assumptions, and stakeholder agreements


Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, project management, business, or a related field
  • Minimum of five years of project management experience involving complex engineering, construction, testing, or technology-development projects
  • Proficiency developing schedules using software including Primavera P6, Microsoft Project, Microsoft Excel
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification
  • Project management experience in the nuclear industry
  • Demonstrated experience managing vendors, contracts, project budgets, schedules, and technical deliverables
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to coordinate technical teams, vendors, management, and cross-functional stakeholders
  • Ability to travel up to 10% as required


Preferred Experience
  • Experience managing large-scale testing programs, research partnerships, first-of-a-kind engineering projects, or nuclear licensing deliverables is preferred.
  • Familiarity with thermal-hydraulic testing, nuclear quality assurance requirements, test readiness processes, or university and national laboratory partnerships is also beneficial.
  • Master of Business Administration (MBA), engineering management degree, or related advanced degree preferred.
  • Familiarity with industry codes and standards such as ASME Section III and VIII, ISO 9001, NQA-1, 10CFR50 Appendix B, and 10CFR21


Compensation:
  • Annual compensation based on skills and experience ranging from $110,000 to $135,000
