Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Project Manager to oversee field technician teams responsible for vehicle installations, RFID tunnel installations, and other IoT deployments across the United States and Canada. The role requires strong multi-team coordination skills, with responsibility for managing multiple concurrent projects and technician crews across different geographic regions. The ideal candidate is highly organized, comfortable with frequent travel, and experienced in balancing scheduling, quality control, customer communication, logistics, and technician performance across a distributed workforce.
Key Responsibilities
• Plan, schedule, and oversee multiple simultaneous field installation projects across the United States and Canada, including vehicle installations, RFID tunnel systems, and other IoT hardware deployments.
• Manage and coordinate multiple field technician teams and crews, ensuring appropriate staffing, equipment, and materials are available for each job site.
• Serve as the primary point of contact for customers regarding project timelines, installation scope, and issue resolution.
• Develop and maintain project schedules, tracking milestones, deadlines, and resource allocation across active projects.
• Conduct regular check-ins with field technicians and team leads to monitor progress, address roadblocks, and ensure work quality and safety compliance.
• Coordinate logistics including technician travel, equipment shipping, site access, permits, and vendor or subcontractor activities.
• Monitor project budgets and labor hours and identify scope changes or potential cost overruns.
• Ensure installations meet company quality standards, manufacturer specifications, and applicable safety and regulatory requirements, including cross-border considerations for Canadian job sites.
• Maintain accurate project documentation, including job completion reports, site surveys, punch lists, and installation records.
• Manage change orders, scope adjustments, and client approvals throughout the project lifecycle.
• Travel to job sites as needed to support project kickoffs, complex installations, quality audits, or issue resolution.
Required Qualifications
• 3-5+ years of project management experience in field services, construction, telecommunications, low-voltage, security, or related technical installation industries.
• Proven experience managing multiple field teams or crews simultaneously across different geographic locations.
• Experience coordinating projects across both the United States and Canada.
• Familiarity with cross-border logistics, including customs, permits, and travel documentation.
• Strong understanding of field installation processes.
• Experience with vehicle upfitting or installation, RFID systems, or IoT hardware.
• Excellent organizational and multitasking skills with the ability to manage competing priorities and changing timelines.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills for coordinating with technicians, customers, and internal stakeholders.
• Proficiency with project management software such as Asana, Monday.com, Smartsheet, or MS Project and scheduling or dispatch tools.
• Willingness and ability to travel domestically and internationally across the United States and Canada up to 25-50%, as project needs require.
• Valid driver's license and passport or ability to obtain required travel documentation.
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to make sound decisions under pressure.
Preferred Qualifications
• Experience with RFID tunnel systems, telematics or vehicle installations, or industrial IoT deployments.
• PMP certification or equivalent project management training.
• Experience managing a distributed or remote field workforce.
• Bilingual English/French communication skills.
• Experience in fleet management, logistics, or systems integration industries.
